The 'Woodshed' is set in 7 acres of secluded gardens, just 2 miles from the pretty harbour village of Boscastle and the South West Coastpath. It is a totally unique detached stone property, which was previously a working man's club and machinery shed. It has now been converted into cosy and comfortable accommodation perfect for 2 people. To the front, there is a 170 year old Victorian walled kitchen garden with fruit, veg, ducks and chickens. We also have pigs and sheep in the fields behind.

The space

Downstairs is an open plan living area and bathroom. There are lots of original and quirky features including a slate-hung shower, homemade kitchen using our own timber, free-standing double ended bath and a Yotul woodburner. The stable door leads out onto a small stone deck that steps down into the Victorian walled kitchen garden. The floor has underfloor heating with reclaimed parque flooring and a patchwork of local Delabole slates. The kitchen has an induction hob with easy-to-use integrated oven below.

Upstairs is a loft style bedroom with a King-size bed (set in a Chesterfield sofa for ultimate comfort!), chest of drawers, clothes hanging space and a desk. Stunning views out over the valley and garden. Please be aware that the timber A-frames upstairs are fairly low - about 5ft 10" (175cm). There are windows at each end, and a large Velux window, with blackout blind.

Guest access

Guests have sole use of the detached 'Woodshed', including the south-facing patio to the front.

The Woodshed is set in the middle of the grounds of a popular 5* Bed & Breakfast that takes up to 8 guests. You are welcome to explore the lovely gardens.

We also keep sheep, pigs, hens and ducks, who would love to meet you... we feed these guys twice a day, and we may also occasionally be out and about gardening, mowing, chopping wood etc. So you'll probably see us out and about, but the place is yours to enjoy and explore, and if you need anything we're not too far away.

There is off road parking close by. You are welcome to use our washing machine and drying room which is in a nearby building.

Interaction with guests

We live on-site, and help run the Bed & Breakfast with Anna's parents, so there is nearly always someone here if you need any help or recommendations during your stay.

I'll meet you on arrival and show you around the Woodshed and gardens (if it's not too rainy!) so you can make the most of your time here.

Other things to note

You're welcome to bring up to 2 well-behaved dogs, free of charge.

Free firewood is provided.

We have designed a green and sustainable living space. Heating and hot water is run from our wood pellet boiler and we have 80 solar panels to provide the majority of our electricity. Recycling and composting is available.

Hot water is powered by a pump to create the required pressure. This is fairly quiet and provides a good shower and fills the bath up quickly!

High speed broadband and 42" Smart TV. DVD player.

Cupboards will be stocked with all the essentials - salt, pepper, tea, coffee, oil, herbs, spices etc, plus a loaf of bread, butter, milk, yoghurt, muesli and various other goodies. We leave a bottle of wine for stays 4 nights or more.

Highly recommend this warm cosy place to stay furnished with great style. The welcoming touches were very appreciated and the bath a pleasure after some tough walking. Beautiful location tucked away with a splendid view from the bedroom. So close to Boscastle only a walk away. We hope to take advantage of this accommodation again and will recommend to family and friends. Thank You.

My partner and I came up from London seeking a quiet, remote little place to stay for a few days. We couldn't have hoped for a better or more ideal location. The decor of the Woodshed is absolutely stunning with such unique and sensitive touches, and the bath was an absolute dream! The bed is super comfy and the grounds of the property as well as the far-reaching views were breathtaking. The hospitality was brilliant with lovely little touches such as our hosts leaving some scones and a loaf of bread for us on arrival, stocking the fire and leaving a whole bunch of leaflets and information about the surrounding area. We had such a wonderful time, we only wish we could have stayed longer!

The Woodshed was a great home away from home. Quiet location with wonderful views. It felt really private and was incredibly well kitted out with acomfy bed, an indulgent bath and a well stocked kitchen. Location wise you can walk from the door into Boscastle and the SW coastal path or hop in the car. It was a perfect break for us. Comms with Anna were quick and easy. Would highly recommend the Woodshed for a quiet getaway.

Great little place. Looks better in real life than the photos's. Lovely added touches such as a cake on our arrival and toiletries in the bathroom and the use of lots of store cupboard ingredients made for a very comfortable stay. Would most certainly recommend this cute unique cottage.

Ideal Airbnb experience! The cottage was much more spacious than the pictures suggest, and there are so many cool little touches. The shower was especially fantastic! Anna was great, giving us a little tour of the gardens on arrival, then gave us space and was easily contactable by text. She left out a really handy box of local guidebooks along with a variety of food goodies. We would definitely stay here again, and it has really set the bar for any AirBnb we book in the future as the price is an absolute steal for the overall experience you get!

This is a beautiful cottage with everything you could possibly need to stay on a self catering basis. It is very peaceful and the garden is lovely with all the homegrown fruit and veg which we could not stop eating from the trees. The cottage is spotless and quirky. You could not regret staying here and if we get the chance we would definitely come back, hopefully with better weather so we could have the chance to sit outside on the patio and enjoy the surroundings.
