The Milk House is a very spacious one bedroom self-contained holiday let, full of character with stunning views of St Michael's Mount in the lovely village of Perranuthnoe, Cornwall.

Being only a 5 min walk from the beach & right on the coastal footpath, makes it the perfect location for those looking for a relaxing rural holiday surrounded by great walks in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The space

The Milk House started life as a milking parlour attached to Trebarvah Barn, which has stood for around 200 years. It was (after a sincere apology to the resident cows) recently converted into a character one-bed holiday apartment, which is extremely spacious for 2 people.

Every effort has been made to keep the unique character of the place, reusing many of the original materials and maximising the view of the iconic St Michael's Mount.

Guest access

The Living Area
The Milk House has a large oak boarded living area measuring approximately 30 x 15 feet. It is open plan & incorporates the kitchen & dining area. It is kitted out with a TV, DAB radio (with MP3 connectivity), free Wi-Fi, dining table & chairs, wood burner, chaise longue & armchair.

In the summer you can extend your living area outside onto the lawn and cobbled patio at the front of the building. From both inside & out, the living area boasts stunning views out over Mount’s Bay & you can enjoy an evening drink with the sun setting behind St Michael’s Mount.

The Kitchen & Dining Area
The slate floored kitchen is fully equipped with a full size electric oven, gas hob, microwave, slim-line dishwasher, fridge freezer, sink & plenty of pots, pans, utensils, cutlery & crockery. As well as the dining table there is a handy breakfast bar and stools.

The Bathroom
The bathroom is a generous 12 x 10 feet making it big enough for both a wet room shower & an original cast iron roll top bath, along with WC & washbasin. It is also equipped with electric under floor heating & heated towel rail.

The Bedroom
The large bedroom is 15 x 12 feet and has lots of character with its old wooden shutters and quirky round window. It has a stunning (& HUGE) super kingsize bespoke handcrafted solid oak bed & matching large bedside cabinets. There is also a full size wardrobe & chest of drawers.

Other things to note

Please Note: Cornwall is a beautiful place to visit all year round but during the peak season the roads in and out of Cornwall can get very busy on a Saturday as this is the normal changeover day for the vast majority of holiday properties.

With this in mind we would highly recommend booking your stay with us traveling on a Sunday when the roads tend to be much quieter! We also try to be as flexible as possible if you want to arrive on a different day.

This conversion has been a labour of love and their pride shows in attention to detail and a wonderful comfortable retreat. It is easy to find and accessible from the main road yet the coast path runs past the windows. A network of paths means there is something for everyone although holing up here with the wood burner and view of the Mount is an absolute delight, loved it!

What a beautiful cottage just perfect for the two of us and made for a wonderful week away on our first visit to Cornwall. Cottage is to a high spec with everything you need including awesome views of St Michaels Mount and Jo and Sophie are great hosts! It is perfectly situated for walks with the coastal paths being a stones throw away and St Ives, Falmouth and Penzance are just short drives away. We highly recommend the Milk House and will definitely be back!

Joe and Sophie's place is simply fantastic. The barn is big, bright and beautiful and there is a lovely calm feel about the place. We especially loved waking up to the view of St. Michael's Mount in the mornings - unbeatable! Joe was always quick to reply to our messages and we felt very at home during our stay. There are lots of helpful books on Cornwall and leaflets about Penzance and the local area in the barn so we found lots to do. Overall, we had a wonderful week staying at The Milk House and are already considering a trip back to Perranuthnoe next year!
