IL COLLE DI FALTUGNANO: immersed in an olive grove on a Tuscan hills and with an amazing view of the valley, the stone cottage has been remarkably recovered a few months ago, a caravanserai a few century ago. In a strategic position close to Florence is a good base for exploring Tuscany and be independent at the same time with supermarkets and restaurants just a few minutes away. Close to a farmhouse you can buy fresh local organic ingredients, such as bio vegetables, eggs or cheese.

The space

The cottage has a simply astonishing outdoor area with three large and furnished terraces around the cottage to choose the exposure, a private garden and an olive trees field.
In the cottage a Carrara marble kitchen with a typical tuscany sink and a dominant orange SMEG refrigerator is equipped with dishwasher, microwave, kettles, coffee makers and everything you need if you love cooking as I do. Dining tables both inside and outside on the valley terrace and living area with a glass window on the valley, a double sofa bed (cm143x178) and access to the large outdoor terrace with a specific WiFi area, present everywhere. The living room is on another level but not separate and open on the bedroom with the double bed (cm160x195) and a wardrobe. Access to a covered terrace and the private garden between olive trees and officinal plants. A bathroom with a shower and an old sink and a laundry room is equipped with washing machine and iron. The cottage is air conditioned in every room; in the field there is a sunny / stargazing area where you can relax in peace and privacy. An old liberty bed can be used as a sunbathing bed or lying in the night under a bright sky of stars, away from any kind of pollution.

Guest access

The cottage is at disposal as well as the exclusive garden, the large terraces and the entire olive grove including the relax/solarium area.
A private car park is beside the cottage and accessible by a private gate with remote control.
Privacy is total.
Just 10 minutes away from the train station and Florence is only 15/20 minutes by train.

The cottage is beautifull and located on a quiet hillside. It contains everthing you need, including two wonderfull hosts and dogs . Allesandro and Emilliano take good care of their guests, they make you feel welcome and at home. The cottage is near all important sites in Tuscany like Pisa, Lucca and Florence. The hosts can tell you al about these places and know details wich are not to found in your travel guide . For us this was one of our best AirBnB experiences! Truly recommended!

We had an amazing time at the wonderful little house of Alessandro and Emiliano. The house is the absolute perfect place for a couple, to enjoy the beauty of the Toscana, and to relax. The house offers everything you need, a fully stuffed kitchen, comfortable bed, beautiful bathroom, and and and..... The garden is just amazing, great view and so much space and privacy. Alessandro and Emiliano have created a little paradise, everywhere you can see, that all is made with love and passion. From the first second, we arrived, to the moment we had to leave, the two, their dogs, and the mother welcomed us, like good friends. We definitely will come back to this incredible place.

Alessandro's cottage is the perfect relaxing retreat. Back home in th UK we lead a very busy lifestyle, and we were looking for a place to stay close enough to visit some of the amazing places Tuscany has to offer, but far enough into the Tuscan countryside that we could wind down and relax. It was exactly what we were looking for. A car is a must as it is approx 10minutes drive from the nearest town Prato, but again this was no issue. The only thing that may have been nice is if we could've walked to a bar/cafe, but we stocked up on wine and drinks and had a glass or two at the cottage taking in the amazing views instead! During our stay we visited Florence, Siena, Pienza, San Gimignano, Greve, and Monteriggioni which were all reachable within an easy day trip. We were greeted on arrival by Alessandro's sister who showed us around the cottage and, and was really nice and very welcoming - she brought us a welcome drink and some amazing Bruschetta which was a nice suprise after a long drive. During our stay Alessandro and his partner were perfect hosts and although they gave us enough privacy to relax, we were always made to feel they were on hand if we needed anything. They go over and above what is required and the small gestures make your stay one to remember. The cottage is stunning. The pictures don't do it justice! It is decorated and furnished to a very high standard, and we both commented on Alessandro's attention to detail. It is very quiet, and although set in the grounds of Alessandro's impressive home it is very private. You have your own entrance and driveway, private parking next to the cottage and you are surrounded by perfectly kept gardens and olive trees. Although remote you feel very safe and at ease. We are very pleased we stayed here, and would book to stay here again without hesitation. We hope one day to return!

We spent 5 nights at Alessandro and Emiliano's wonderful little cottage. It is separated from the main house by olive trees. Plenty of privacy. Alessandro was incredibly helpful and always looking for ways to make you feel comfortable. It was lovely being treated to aperol spritz on arrival as well as a few surprise homemade cakes and pizza throughout the stay. We made good use of the very well-equipped kitchen too. You can tell the hosts have put a lot of thought into making sure you have everything you need at the cottage. The friendly golden retrievers (Giorgio and Rocco) will occasionally come say "ciao" and ask for a tummy scratch :) The property is well located. We made day trips to Cinque Terre, Montepulciano as well as a few hiking trails within one hour drive. You could easily make day trips to Florence and other Tuscan attractions by car or from the Prato train station. When not exploring Tuscany, we enjoyed unwinding in the hammock, dazing in and out of sleep to the sound of the rustling olive trees under the Tuscan sun - bliss! Thank you once again Alessandro and Emiliano.

One of the most amazing Airbnb stays I've ever had. Not only was the home better in person, but the hosts, Alessandro and Emiliano, went above and beyond to create worthwhile experience. Alessandro’s motto is “you shouldn’t have to stress about anything while you’re on vacation.” That’s honestly how I felt. I didn’t have to stress about a thing during my stay at the cottage. We were welcomed by the duo and their two dogs (we love them). Shortly after, we enjoyed light refreshments and conversed on ways to best enhance our stay. During our stay, we visited Florence, Prato, and Riomaggiore. I would strongly suggest that you reserve a car during your stay. The area is huge and there is so much to do. The trains stop running at a certain time, so it would be a pain to have to spend money on taxis just to get around. Although the weather wasn’t too great (it rained a lot), between the hosts’ warm energy and breathtaking panoramic views, I am upset with myself for not extending my stay. I am from NYC where I can’t buy that kind of peace and serenity anywhere. I can’t say much that hasn’t already been said, except for you’d be crazy not to stay here.

My husband and I spend a lot of time finding the perfect accommodations for our trips, and we've never had anything like this before. Staying with Emiliano and Alessandro is like being hosted by family. They were full of attention for our wellbeing, as well as our 4 month old daughter's. Interactions were frequent, easy and pleasant. The house itself is consistent with the above: you can tell it was designed with great care, love, and impeccable taste. The detail-oriented travelers will really appreciate the depth of this house, with the old and the new blending in together in a seamless, thoughtful manner. The windows in the living room offer a breathtaking view of the nearby hills and village, sometimes we simply sat on the couch and indulged in the view for lengthy periods of time. Lastly, the location allowed us to travel to adjacent cities quickly and easily. We visited Firenze, Lucca, Prato, and Pistoia; all were well within driving distance even with the "baby factor" (which limits our tolerance for long drives). We could sense that for Alessandro and Emiliano, giving is a reward onto itself. We endorse them with absolutely no reservations, they truly deserve it.

A truly wonderful place. Beautiful and very well equipped cottage with private gardens. We very much enjoyed relaxing on the hammock amongst the olive trees. Fantastic hosts that could not do enough for us but also respected our privacy. Cannot recommend enough.
