This beautiful wooden house from 1910 only an hour from Stockholm city centre, is located on the historic island of Adelsö. It was originally a shop to serve the hardworking farming community of Lindby but over the years, was eventually turned into a house that today accommodates a family of 6-8. There is also a small basic cabin that has a bunk bed and a single bed on the property. The house is close to a range of amenities incl. a shop, a beautiful old traditional café and bathing places
For a more substantial supermarket, guests can take the ferry (no cost and every half hour) and then drive 20 mins to Ekerö. Pony riding is also possible in Sättra gård at the other end of the island (URL HIDDEN) (ring Maud Donatello, mobile (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)). Buses run regularly from Bromma station in Stockholm

I'm Irish but have been living in Sweden for over 14 years and have come to love Stockholm. My wife is Swedish and I have two children aged 6 and 10. I work with international development and human rights issues in different countries around the world in Eastern Europe, Africa and Asia. I'm also interested in sports, art, reading fiction and also I play the guitar and mandolin when I have the time!
