This is glamping! 5 minutes to Castles and 15 to the City of Rocks. Provided: AC/heat, towels, cooking appliances, dishes, camp stove w/gas, small fridge, 4-burner grill w/gas, shower, soap/shampoo, toilet/tp, campfire, firewood, shade, privacy and an amazing view. You bring your own bedding and food, we provide just about everything else. We are taking precautions during covid-19 - sanitizing, spacing visits by 48 hrs. No pets/no exceptions. Four person maximum.

The space
The 1984 Southwind RV is a great space to hang out; rustic but fully functioning and comfortable. What's more fun is to sit outside and take in the views. The stars at night are amazing. There is a covered porch to hide from the heat or rain. You are tucked in the Junipers on an old country road with great views; Cache Peak to the North and Castle Rock State Park to the West. There's space for a large tent if you some of your group would prefer being outside! We have space for 2 vehicles. 4 person max/no pets.

Guest access
Please stay in the area around the RV. Enjoy the hammock and the woods near you. Children can check out the tree house but please supervise as it's your typical treehouse with lots of opportunity to bump a head or scratch a knee. Band-aids can be found in the RV bathroom.

Other things to note
The hot water heater is smallish (5-8 min. shower with 20 min reset). There is a queen bed, full size fold-out couch and a single bunk but remember we no longer provide bedding. Two car maximum. No dogs/pets. The dirt road up to the Southwind is maintained and all vehicles (even those with low clearance) should be able to get here. With extreme weather the road can be muddy. There is limited wi-fi - some people can get it and others have to walk up our driveway. If you have AT&T you will get good service, if not it's a single spot in Almo where you might get Verizon.

Location

Almo, Idaho, United States

It's rural! There are dirt roads and only a few stores and restaurants with variable open hours. I think I've already covered what is unique and beautiful about this place. It's amazing. If you haven't been to City of Rocks you are in for a treat.

We have lived in Almo for about 15 years. We met climbing at the City of Rocks and have not left since. Brad spent 20 years as a park ranger here and is now a climbing guide for Sawtooth Mountain Guides. I am a teacher and work from home. We love to climb, ski, backpack and make progress on our little acreage. We stay busy with our junior high daughter and 2 scrappy dogs.
