Private suite on secluded farm conveniently located in an eastern, rural, suburb of Cincinnati. Beautiful setting beckons you to explore; or just sit and enjoy our nicely appointed backyard. Close to the quaint, river town New Richmond offering unique dining and entertainment. 20 minutes to Harsha Lake/Eastfork, RiverBend, Coney Island. 30 minutes to downtown Cincinnati: Great American Ball Park, Paul Brown Stadium, US Bank Arena and Zoo and Creation Museum; Ark Encounter one hour.

The space

Private outside entrance to the lower walkout level of our contemporary "farm" house sports large windows overlooking one acre stocked pond and mature woods. The space includes a large bedroom and private bathroom, plus rec room with pool table, dining area, and a separate lounge.

Our space is most appropriate for up to two adults and one child. I charge for all guests, including infants, so include them in your request - count them as a child. Bedroom comes with a queen size bed, which sleeps two comfortably, and a chair-ottoman combination for seating. The lounge area offers additional sleeping on a sectional sofa. Bed linens and towels are provided. (View photos....)

One well-behaved dog may be welcome, at our discretion, for an additional ten ($10) dollars per night. Guidelines include: must weigh under 40 lbs and be friendly to other dogs, cats and humans. Must be crate trained and be up to date on shots. Will not be allowed on furniture or carpeted area. Contact me for details regarding pets.

Guest access

Guests have at your disposal basic kitchen implements, including a small refrigerator, a toaster oven, a microwave oven, and a coffee/tea brewer and a few dishes. Also you may use the gas grill and table and chairs outside. Guests do not have access to the rest of the house or to the kitchen. Perhaps you will join us for breakfast one morning, which typically includes farm fresh eggs, meat, fruit and occasionally a coffee cake or scones.

Interaction with guests

We reside on the premises and are frequently at home. We enjoy meeting new people, but will interact as little, or as much, as you need or wish. Since guests have their own private entrance, autonomy is possible. To reach me call my cell phone; the number will be provided once the reservation is confirmed.

Our dog, Bo, and our cat, James, live primarily upstairs and outside, but they might visit with you when given the opportunity.

Other things to note

Wi-Fi is provided via DSL by Cincinnati Bell and is low-medium strength. Basic TV reception via antenna and DVD and VCR player available. I charge for all guests, including infants, so include them in your request (as a child). Be prepared with appropriate shoes and/or clothing for rugged outdoor activities. Inside, avail yourself to our collection of board games or shoot pool while listening to '60s and '70s vinyl on our vintage Pioneer stereo system. A supply of toiletries, including shampoo, body wash, towels and linens is provided (no bar soap provided). Use of washer and dryer is limited; upon request only. Exit instructions are on the premises.

We expect responsible behavior on the part of all visitors. Please oversee your dogs and children and treat our property like your own valued property. Smoking permitted outside only.

A dog crate can be provided for your convenience; pets are not permitted on carpeted floors or on the furniture. Dogs must be on lease when outside and please clean up after your pet (plastic bags and garbage can on site). Acceptance of any animal is at our discretion.

Children must have adult supervision at all times and, also, are expected to treat our property with care.

In order to protect from possible cross-contamination, do not bring your own firewood. Firewood will be provided.

We take precautions to provide a safe and healthful environment, but you are expected to take usual precautions as warranted; we are not responsible for injury to you, your guests, or your property. Please review the Welcome sheet left for you - which includes instructions on using appliances and/or lighting - as well as precautions and guidelines.

Please follow general good housekeeping practices including: hang up wet towels; you may leave linens on bed. Place wet dishes on the drier mat in corner of bathroom. Do not use good towels for cleaning pets and/or shoes, patio furniture, etc.; you'll find a "work" towel on the floor near the entrance door for these kind of cleanups.

Please use the appropriate recycle, trash and/or compost containers; if uncertain, just deposit in trash container. You'll find a garbage can receptacle for each outside for final disposal. Protect sewer system by not flushing inappropriate things in the toilet; dispose of paper towels, tampons and diapers, for example, in the trash bin. Washer and/or dryer may be available upon request.

Consumption of alcoholic beverages is permitted - in moderation. Smoking is permitted outside only - no cigarette butts on the ground, please.

Call or text me when leaving, so I can give instructions - and so we can secure the premises.

This was my second stay with Ginger and it's a great place to stay and she's a great host - easygoing, friendly and we had a lovely breakfast. The space is clean, quiet and comfortable.

If you're after peace and quiet, this is the place to go. It has a beautiful view over a little lake and many birds come in for the feeders. However, the space is not set up for cooking and eating in. So you'd have to be prepared to eat most of your meals out. Or grill them outside, which is weather dependent. The bedroom is great, with a nice comfy bed. The bathroom is clean and so is the rest of the space. The hosts are nice and will do what they can to make you comfortable, which is a definite plus.

Response from Ginger:
Thank you, Lesley, for your comments. Indeed, as the listing clearly indicates, a full kitchen is not available to guests; but the space does offer amenities that most guests find to be quite adequate for a short stay - including a microwave oven, toaster oven, Keurig coffee-tea-hot-chocolate brewer and small refrigerator with a tiny freezer (as well as outdoor grill and fire pit). Guests are also invited to join us for breakfast. Furthermore, I suggest coming with an automobile - as most guests enjoy a night out at a local restaurant three miles away.

The property is absolutely amazing, no pictures can do it justice it was more then we could ask for!! Ginger was very polite and informed us on places to eat and also a bicentennial that was going on nearby. And people who love record players make sure to bring your vinyls. She also gave us a carton that we used to collect eggs from the chickens which we both loved! Overall a great experience thank you both for allowing us to stay with you!!!

I enjoy outdoor activities, including gardening, landscape design, walking and bicycling, as well as visiting new places, meeting new people, and eating new foods. When not gardening, you'll find me reading on a wide range of topics, including history and real life adventures; or perhaps experimenting with a new dish using local garden fare.

My husband and I enjoy hosting family and friends on our twenty-two acre farm. We believe you will enjoy your visit at either of our locations (Serendipity Farm or Wagner Road House) and we welcome you. Please contact me if you have questions.
