The Water Otter Inn is a warm and peaceful welcome, especially after arriving after dark on a Friday evening. We stayed in the Seacaves Room, which had a comfortable queen sized bed with plenty of blankets and pillows. Her house is not pretentious, but rather is filled details like driftwood, house plants, and plush rugs with a layer of cushion underneath that allow you to drift right into relaxation. The house has beautiful wood floors, comfortable furnishings in wicker and natural fabrics, lots of beautiful natural light and blankets to wrap up and enjoy a cup of (complimentary) coffee or tea. It's apparent Colene enjoys world travel, as scattered throughout her house are small, unassuming mementos from her trips, a basket of collected rocks, a piece of driftwood with shells placed just-so, in our room, a ceramic pitcher for water and two water glasses with a towel laid over the pitcher. These simple, hospitable acknowledgements help you to feel at home. The bathroom was very clean and supplied towels and hair dryer for use. We visited in the fall, and Colene had adorable pumpkins and gourds out front to get into the season's cheer. We enjoyed walking from The Water Otter Inn each morning a few blocks to Coco's, and enjoying a leisurely stroll into the book store just down the street. Would definitely stay again!

Loved the Water Otter Inn! The perfect accommodation for a weekend (or longer) escape. Colene is a wonderful host and makes you feel right at home. The rooms are neat, clean and spacious, and we were made to feel like we were at our home away from home. Perfect location, very central to so many activities. Will definitely be back!

What a marvelous, quiet, relaxing spot to stay the night! I felt most at home and really enjoyed it. I was automatically upgraded to a charming suite of rooms, since they were available, and I really appreciated that.

The name Water Otter Inn is perfect because these animals love to play and play is so important to our physical and mental health. An avid outdoor person, I enjoy nature, travel, gardening, kayaking, swimming, hiking and biking. Places that are off the beaten track are my favorite. I enjoy people and sharing my knowledge of the outdoors with them. Learning about other cultures and eating ethnic food are among my favorite things.
