Tir Na Sligo, County Donegal, Ireland

Willie Dans (F93 KD53) cottage is featured on the 'Wild Atlantic Way'. Surrounded by 360 degrees of breath taking views of the Urris Hills/Malin head/Dunaff head and beaches as far as the eye can see.

The nearest sandy beach, is the beautifully situated Lennan Bay, only 2km away. Another nearby beach is Tullagh Bay. A perfect location for Hill walkers, The Seven Peaks Walk in the Urris Hills is said to be one of the finest walks in Ireland.

On the way there, you will see the Pub known as The Rusty Nail. It is the name of a cocktail, but is also reputed to have been named after a flame haired owner of the 1930s. Stop for a drink, or a meal, with hot, tasty food including many varieties of local sea-food. - And you are always guaranteed good craíc and live music on the weekends.

Drive south over the Mamore Gap, and take a right turn at the next intersection, where the road will take you to Dunree and the fort, which you can visit. It has a military museum, an art gallery and a coffee shop. View the big naval guns that were used to defend Lough Swilly, and see panoramic views over a Lough that extends some 40km southwards.

For hill walkers, the cottages are a good starting point to explore the Urris Hills, if one walk must be chosen in all Inishowen”, this is it. My work: Mamore Cottages
Lives in Londonderry, United Kingdom
Hello, My name is Niall Kearney. I manage Mamore Cottages on Air BnB. There is a choice of five beautiful original 'Donegal Style' thatched cottages. Originally built 150 years ago:- they are all similar in style and appearance, and your choice will be determined by the size of your family or group. Each cottage is named after the last owner/tenant who occupied it - Mary's Cottage, Kate's Cottage, Mickey's Cottage, Seoirse's Cottage and Willie Dan's Cottage. Each Cottage has been carefully restored and is fully heated with all mod cons. Features such as thatched bog oak roof, open turf fire, flagged stone floor and old pine furniture create a timeless atmosphere.
