Room in a farm stay

Your own room in a home, plus access to shared spaces.
Some info has been automatically translated.
We have converted an 18th century old, stone coach house into our home and offer guests a double room ensuite (+one small single if required). Our place is tucked away in a wooded valley on the coast, just 40 mins from Cork city and airport and 20 mins from Kinsale. Sara is a ceramic artist and Gidi is a cook.
There are some beautiful walks to be had with splendid cliffs, private cove and mature woodland, dotted with ruins, telling of times gone by.

The space
We spent about 12 years living in the loft overhead while converting the ground floor from cattle sheds to living space. The land at the back originally retained the building, almost to the roof. We excavated and gained the space which now houses our ensuite guest room, sunroom and south facing deck.
Sleeping arrangements comprise a superking size bed and a narrow divan more suited to a young person

Guest access
Access to the guest room is via our front door and through our living space. However the guest room is quiet and private.

Guests will find a refreshment tray with kettle, mugs, tea and coffee etc in the room. There is no fridge or microwave. As our kitchen is constantly in use for our businesses we don't offer cooking facilities.

There is an outdoor deck space accessed from the guest room, weather permitting!

We suggest visitors do take walks on the property to experience this wonderful corner of southern Ireland.

During your stay
We are available to give advice on local amenities and things to do.
Sara can also offer a taster workshop in ceramics - or a longer course if guests are interested. See (URL HIDDEN) for further details
Gidi is a cook ((URL HIDDEN) and with a day's notice, we can offer a hearty homecooked evening meal if desired. We enjoy sharing good food and conversation with visitors. Special dietary requirements catered for, (please advise) and a homemade breakfast is included.
If guests prefer, breakfast can be served in the guest room or on the deck outside the room, if weather permits. Otherwise it is served in our kitchen.
We have large dogs... an old retriever, a rescue and two 3 year old German/Belgian shepherd cross. They are all friendly but be warned, the younger ones are boisterous and get highly excited on meeting new people...

Other things to note
One or two of our guests have had trouble finding us using the post code. If you would like explicit directions, to ensure finding us, please let me know the direction from which you will be travelling and I will send you directions.

Please note that our valley and coastal area is a nature sanctuary which is there for you to enjoy. We ask you to be respectful of the surroundings.
No drones or fireworks please.

I am a ceramic artist, with a background in graphic design. I have lived and worked in the UK and Australia and travelled extensively. Ireland, where I was born, has been home for the last 30 years with Gidi, my partner and our two kids. We spent 12 of those years converting an old stone building into our home, in the yard of the family farm. We love where we live and happy to share our stories and our beautiful coastal corner with our guests.
