Great location to see all the sites in our nation's capital. Conveniently located one mile from two Metro stops. If you're in town for work or to see family, explore, this is a great place to rest your feet. Walk to Silver Spring and Takoma Park for neighborhoods.

The space is the lower level of a 1920's bungalow. I live upstairs - you have your own entrance with a private bathroom, bedroom, sitting area and patio.

The space
The space is the lower level of a bungalow. I live upstairs. This is a ground level basement with windows in the sitting area and the bedroom. The sitting area functions as my laundry room, but I won't be doing laundry while you are staying there.

There is a lovely patio space with chairs for your morning coffee. I have a friendly dog. If you have allergies this might not be the best place. My dog will stay upstairs, but does go into the yard. He will bark if anyone comes to the door. He's a great guard dog.

There is wifi and cable tv available. A small desk in the sitting area that you can use if you have to work during your trip.

The bathroom is fully equipped with a bathtub, towels, hairdryer, hand soap, body wash, shampoo and conditioner. I have added additional disinfectants and paper towels.

I have provided a mini fridge, microwave, a Wolf gourmet countertop electric tabletop oven and coffee set up.

There is a parking spot in my driveway designated for you. This is an easy Uber and Lyft pick area. You can walk 1 mile/15-20 minutes to the Metro into DC (Red Line).

While this is a basement, there are windows, so it is not an 'underground' basement. However, due to the historic nature of the home, there are pipes in the ceiling. For some taller guests, they are very low - so if you have issues with this you may want to keep that in mind. Taller guests have asked that I mention the low ceilings. You can see the in the photos. I'm short, so it doesn't bother me at all!

The neighborhood is right on the Maryland/Washington, DC line. Beautiful tree-lined streets in a historic area.

It is a residential neighborhood, so you will want to be respectful of the neighbors. They are all friendly and will be coming and going to work. Many work from home and will be around during the day.

Hello. I live in Silver Spring, MD just outside of Washington, DC. I grew up in this area so know it pretty well. I went to school in North Carolina and lived in New York City for many years. So, ask me about other places - because I do love to travel. I've been to many parts of the US and Europe. My travel style is typically pretty well planned out, with time for spontaneous side trips or adventures.

I'm a food person - I like to find the best places to eat and drink wherever I go. If you are staying in my place, I'm happy to share my favorite spots with you. Or, to share ideas if you have special dietary needs (vegan, vegetarian, meat eaters!). Just let me know.

I like to hike or find good walks in any area where I'm visiting. If I can get to my destination and not have to drive, that's ideal. Or, if there are day trips where we can drive/train and get back to home base in the evening that works too.
