The space

Come step ‘off the grid’ and onto the land of our Orchard Oasis. Immerse yourself in the nature of the North Shore and enjoy a unique experience of a lifetime at our hidden gem.

Our site is located within a private gated community situated at the base of Mt. Ka’ala, Oahu’s tallest mountain. The historic town of Haleiwa is five minutes away and offers a variety of shops and restaurants. Numerous snorkeling, swimming, and surfing beaches are also nearby and easily accessible.

This 10’x12’ structure, known as a Tentalo, was relocated from Molokai and rebuilt to best suit the property. It is fully waterproof, mold proof, and UV proof. There is a locking front door and windows that zip up for privacy or down for ventilation.

We are off the grid but offer all of the common comforts of home including:

- Electricity generated from solar photovoltaic panels
- Water drawn from a private artesian well and heated with solar panels
- A private bathroom with a compostable toilet flushed with running water
- A private outdoor shower with solar hot water
- A comfortable queen size bed with clean sheets, pillows, blankets, and towels
- An overhead light and electrical outlets to charge phones, computers, etc.
- Access to an outdoor kitchen with dishes, utensils, and refrigerator space
- WiFi

There is a large organic fruit orchard with avocados, mangoes, papayas, bananas, lychee, guava, lilikoi (passion fruit), star fruit, figs, pomegranate, oranges, tangerines, and more. When in season, these are all available to be picked and enjoyed by guests.

Wake up to the sounds of birds and join them in the orchard in search of ripe fruit or fresh flowers. Then in the outdoor kitchen, blend a fresh smoothie, talk with other guests, and plan your afternoon adventures.

On the weekends you can purchase fresh vegetables from the certified organic vegetable farm a few hundred yards away.

A bon fire pit and Chilean style mud oven are in the orchard and available for guests to use as well.

We also offer surf lessons, surfboard rentals, handmade local jewelry, and tasty treats. If interested, just ask!

Other rental units are also available on the property and share the orchard, kitchen, and fire pit. However, each unit has its own private bathroom and shower and privacy is maintained by the lush landscaping.

Sorry, no pets are allowed.

An outdoor kitchen, the fire pit, the mud oven, and of course the bountiful tropical organic fruit orchard.

Please no trespassing on either of the neighboring properties and please do not wander below the orchard or above the parking area.

.

We love the remoteness of the property. It is within a gated community, yet most of the neighboring properties are agriculture lands and most of the roads are dirt paths. There is very little traffic and it a great place to go for a walk or jog. It is quiet and dark at night. The stars shine most brightly here as there are few other lights to interfere. There are goats sold nearby and a certified organic farm is just down the path with fresh vegetables available for purchase. Although we maintain a feel or remoteness, the town of Haleiwa and beaches are just down the road.

Couldn’t have picked a better place to stay on the North Shore. Everything about our time in the tentalo was wonderful. If you’re thinking about it, just do it.

Here's the meat of it - We booked this property because of the pretty pictures and positive reviews. In hindsight, I'm assuming many of these reviews are from bots or island neighbors fabricating property features. This site is poorly maintained, not on a fruit orchard, tiny and poorly, poorly lit. It's very hard to find, due to the host's poorly written directions from South to North. Guess what, there are other directions on the compass; maybe post a drop-pin instead of vague directions? After walking the small space for a few minutes and looking in the tentalo, my girlfriend and I decided not to stay. Casey, the "Super Host" said "no problem, we are not offended and will work with you on a refund." We left to find a new place to stay and ended up booking the Marriott about 30min away, as it was late at night and I didn't want to risk another AirBnB miss. I called Casey, she didn't pick up, then I text her a few times regarding the refund. She responded that she was very offended and that we had embarrassed her and her family. A very different position than the laid back aloha attitude she fronted in person. She made things personal on text, I kept it professional, she claimed to be a Super Host, which should embarrass others on AirBNB with the same status. If you're looking for somewhere to store your lawnmower, rake or weed-whacker, consider using this site for storage. Otherwise you're just wasting your money and time on a farce that Casey and Shae laughably call the "Orchard Oasis".

Great spot for a little solitude and close to town. Great property where you can pick fruit!

Aloha Casey&Shea, A beautiful location with views of the ranch land and the mountains. The bed's clean, the bathroom's okay. But the kitchen is a disaster. In particular the refrigerator is coated with black mould on the rubber gasket and in the meantime thawed. The resort itself is not in a really well-maintained condition and urgently needs some measures. Too bad for the resort that much of the spirituality is lost. The accommodation is too expensive for this condition. Aloha Harald&Sonja

The Orchard Oasis is an absolutely beautiful getaway near North Shore. We stayed for one night and the hosts were out of town, so the was no yoga and everything was a bit unkept BUT considering the type of stay we were expecting... this was not a big deal at all. Erick, the Hosts' friend who was running the property while they were out of town was super nice. The other guests were wonderful, and we wound up sitting at the communal kitchen and chatting until well after dark. We also all cooked breakfast together. Unfortunately, our infant son got sick and kept us up all night long. I'm sure he probably woke our neighbors as well and we felt so bad. He doesn't usually wake up through the night but he must have caught a stomach bug because he didn't keep any fluids down and that made our stay quite a bit less relaxing than we had hoped for. But, that's the life of traveling with children, I suppose. The views are stunning. The directions were easy once we actually found them and read them. DON'T USE ANY MAP APPS. That will take you down the wrong road. The fruit trees weren't quite in season but they were beautiful, and the chickens and baby chicks amused our son. There was also a friendly cat who came around for dinner and breakfast. The outdoor shower was hot enough for two of us to shower in the morning and it was amazing to shower under the palms with the geckos spying on us. We would for sure stay again!

Great place!! We really enjoyed the orchard oasis. The tent was cozy and comfortable. The sheets and pillows were great much better then a hotel! The views, smells and night sky were fantastic. Loved the outdoor shower. Could work on the cleanliness of the place, empty the trash in the bathroom since you can't flush the toilet paper. Suggestion: hammock :)! I will Recommend this place!

We stayed for 2 nights and glad we didn't book any longer... it's an unique place if your looking to explore the back country of Oahu, although would consider this place one step above camping. If you plan on staying at multiple locations around Oahu, make this your first destination to ensure the remainder of your trip only gets better (in terms of quality).
