Guest amenities badges must be purchased from the Rec Center in the Sea Colony Marketplace complex in order to use the facilities. You will be required to show a copy of your Airbnb rental confirmation page at the time of purchase. The fee is $40 for each guest over the age of four which allows unlimited access to all facilities including parking, a half-mile of private guarded beach, indoor and outdoor pools, hot tubs and saunas, indoor and outdoor tennis courts, basketball courts, ping pong tables, stocked fishing ponds, hiking and biking trails, picnic areas and playgrounds. Tennis instruction, yoga, water aerobics and other activities are also available for an additional fee.
The smart lock code for self check-in will be sent a few days in advance of your arrival. There is no need to check in at the Rec Center unless you are planning to purchase amenities badges.
Should you not wish to purchase badges for the recreational facilities, we have one courtesy parking pass you may use. It is located in a small ceramic pail on the kitchen counter along with our personal amenities badges and tags for our dogs - please do not remove these items. The courtesy parking pass must be displayed in your car at all times and returned to the pail on your departure. There is a $50 replacement fee for a lost parking pass.
Interaction with guests
It is possible that we will be nearby during your stay. However, if we are unable to meet you in person, we are happy to have you text us should you have any questions or concerns.
Other things to note
Please be advised that you need to bring your own sheets, plus bath, beach and kitchen towels (as well as soap, shampoo and paper products) as our cleaning service does not do laundry. There is a washer and dryer in the unit if you need to launder any soiled quilts, shams, etc. (or any items of your own). Please note that any items from the unit which you wash should be dried, folded and returned to where you found them prior to your departure.
This is our vacation home and we are happy to share it but ask that you please treat it with care and leave it the way you found it. Minimum age for renters is 23. Guests must purchase amenities badges at the Sea Colony Rec Center if they wish to use the recreational facilities, and bring their own sheets, beach/bath/kitchen towels, soap, and paper products. Please be mindful of our neighbors with regard to noise.
From Jun 2 - Sep 28, 2018 the minimum stay is 5 nights.
We're a couple in our 50's (ex Peace Corps types) who welcome folks from all walks of life to come stay with us at our primary home in Washington, DC or rent our vacation condo in Bethany Beach, Delaware. We're friendly, adventurous, respectful non-smokers who have both traveled and lived abroad in many countries. Lot is a non-profit executive who works with housing and community development initiatives, and Sheri manages K-12 public education programs. We live in the Cleveland Park North section of DC which is one of the prettiest, safest, most convenient and charming neighborhoods in the city. Our favorite activities include hiking with our two golden retrievers, spending time with family and friends, relaxing at our beach house, exploring other cultures, cooking, golfing, snorkeling, gardening, drinking wine and riding horses. One of us also loves football. The other, not so much!
