Interaction with guests
Either Sadia or I will meet you on arrival and give you a full tour of the property. Please note late arrivals after 5pm I can arrange an automated check-in service with no extra charges and I will arrange to greet you the following day by arrangement should you wish.
I will also provide you with a detailed House Manual which can be found in your apartment with my best tips suggesting the best places to eat, drink & visit around Dublin City. I am here to help should you require. No matter how big or small your request is, my aim is to ensure you see Dublin like a true Dubliner!
This apartment is all about it's location and the bright comfortable interior with a great views. What I love about my neighbourhood is the first morning views from our large windows straight to Dublin Castle. It is rare to have such a pretty view in a superb location in Dublin. There is lots to see and do in my area among all the famous sites there are plenty of cute cafes, award winning restaurants and great pubs.
Alfresco morning breakfast at the Queen of Tarts on Cows lane, where I often read the morning paper with a sweet treat and tea from a china cup. Afternoon croissant on the heated terrace of the Castle gates with a great coffee outside Chez Max restaurant. My favourite family friendly Italian restaurant Toscana is right on my street, where they grow their own vegetables and salads from their family farm-house. Morning or evening yoga in the studio across my street. A stroll in the park in the Castle grounds on a sunny day or a visit to the Chester Beatty library!
I love the people, the smile and even in the rain the fun and bustle of my City. The farmers organic market just around the corner, on a Saturday hail rain or shine! I love the walks around Trinity College and a visit to its long library and book of Kells that can be viewed there. A short stroll to Christ Church Cathedral and its beautiful crypt or to sunbathe in St Patrick's Cathedral gardens when the sun visits Dublin. A stroll to Guinness Store house to view Dublin from their sky bar. I love the shopping on Grafton Street and feeding the ducks in St Stephens Green. Of course when it rains the great craic and traditional music in the wonderful bars here any time of day. But my favourite bars have to be the Stags head off Dame Street behind the Mercantile. I love Hogans bar or 200 year old The Long Hall on George's St. Our neighbourhood for sure is most convenient for getting around with all the sights on our doorstep. But best of all I love the sense of history here I reside in the oldest quarter of Dublin, where so much Irish history has been written.
GETTING HERE BY BUS - I recommend you download the DublinBus app. Use the app to check the arrival times of the 747 Airlink bus which departs from the airport every 10/15 minutes. It bus costs approx €10 per person return, with a journey time of 50 minutes. This bus has wifi so please stay in touch to let me know if you had any delays. The bus passes the my apartment on Dame Street which will be on your right hand side. The stop to get off is just after this landmark. Stop number 1935 Christ Church/Lord Edward Street.
GETTING HERE BY TAXI - You can take a taxi for €30 this takes approx 20 minutes outside the arrivals hall. If you would like a more personal meet and greet Taxi service you can order online Dubl(URL HIDDEN) this will cost €38 one way and the taxi will wait for you at arrivals displaying your name. All taxis know the Olympia so it's an easy journey. Our apartment will be prepared for you as soon as our previous guests check out. The normal check in time is 2pm but we can take your bags in at 11am if you would like. For very early flight arrivals into Dublin, I would suggest storing your luggage at the lockers at the tourist office called - Visit Dublin Centre, 25 Suffolk Street, Dublin 2. They charge a small fee. Otherwise we can take your bags in from 12pm as the cleaner prepares the rooms.
All sight seeing buses pass right by the apartment windows too, as we reside in the most touristic part of Dublin. This makes it very easy for our guests to see all the sights Dublin has to offer within a short stay. You can book a ticket online before you arrive or go to O'Connell Street or Nassau Street ticket Centre's which is a 10 minute walk when you get here. To get to all the action of Temple Bar, simply walk one minute, it's so close yet thankfully far enough to have a more peaceful stay in the City.
A taxi rank is nearby after 6pm for guests who wish to transit the city at ease. To avoid getting lost in the city I also recommend downloading the Uber App or Halo App where you can hail a taxi anywhere in the city and they will find your location and come pick you up from any point showing you your wait time. Taxi drivers from this app cannot overcharge, are vetted and recorded on every trip to make travelling a new city a safe experience for guests.
All major bus routes are in our area which makes travelling to other parts of Dublin/Ireland so easy. The Dublin bus app gives you accurate arrival times by destination name or your bus number. Don't be without it in the City!
Remember Dublin is small and traffic is bumper to bumper in the City with lots of one way streets and time restrictions. Dublin is so easy to get around by foot or hop on hop off buses that pass my place. If you have been traveling Ireland by rental car I would recommend to arrange to have it dropped off at Houston train station as it is the closest point to us and you can hop back into the City by tram (Luas) from across the station. (Drop backs to the Airport are more awkward) Houston Train station is the best location and only an 8 minute drive. Houston station also connects to all major counties of Ireland by rail.
There is no private parking at the apartment, the closest Car park is (bookings dot parkrite dot ie) a 3 minute stroll at Juries Inn Christchurch €30 per day. However it's cheaper if you pre book online cost is €20 per 24hours. I do have a contact for a private space just 1 min across the street at €15 per day. If required I can check availability please ask in advance to avoid disappointment.
For departures back to the Airport check DublinBus app by bus stop no 2002 to find the wait time. Then walk back 1 minute towards Christ Church Cathederal, staying on the same side of my street walk towards the Parliament Hotel. Locate bus stop number 2002, it's that easy!

Travelling as often as we do over the years, I have personally experienced some great and some not so great levels of customer service, cleanliness & support.
