Kristen was a great host. Helpful and kind, she was a pleasure to interact with. The cabin itself is gorgeous, clean, and cozy. It’s furnished well with the essentials and we had a great fall weekend here. We loved that it’s close to Bar Harbor and Acadia - perfect if you want to go out and explore or do some hiking. However the cabin is so cozy you might not want to leave - we spent one of our night’s in with pizza and a movie by the fire! Highly recommended spot, thanks again!

We immensely loved this cabin. We spent seven days here and cherished every second. The quiet side of the island is so lovely. Some specifics about the cabin for future guests: You can drive to "downtown" Southwest Harbor in two minutes. We walked a couple times. Easy walk. Took us about fifteen to twenty minutes. Totally safe with great views, even at night. The cabin has a great oven, stove, and fridge. We cooked steaks one night. Steamed lobsters another. So fun! The beds are extremely comfortable. It was hard to get up some mornings. The shower is really great, too. Hot and powerful. Though you're not totally out in the woods, the cabin is very private and surrounded by trees and hills, away from the road. We rarely saw any people around the neighborhood, but when we did it resulted in wonderful conversations and warmth. The cabin is ten minutes away from two exceptional hikes we did: Flying Mountain overlooking Somes Sound and Beech Mountain overlooking Long Pond. These are as good and pure as moderate-level hikes get in America. Overall, I wish we lived in the cabin full-time. That's how much we liked it. The craftsmanship and attention to aesthetic detail are evident from the moment you step onto the path leading to it. And once you're inside, you just know the there-if-you-need-them hosts really care about the guests having a private, clean, and artistic stay. Richard and Kristen are delightful, charming, fascinating, and giving. If you want souvenir shops and mild nightlife, stay in Bar Harbor. If you want a tranquil and more authentic Acadian experience that's not deep in the woods but a bit detached, stay here. It's an easy twenty minute or so drive to Bar Harbor if you're jonesing for that vibe. And there are even taxis! But we liked Bass Harbor, Bernard, Tremont, and Southwest Harbor much more. Our time at the cabin is the most romantic week we've ever had. It's not a fairy tale, but at times it surely felt like one.

What a great find! The Cabin is cozy and efficient, with really great attention to detail in the design flourishes. It's a great place to just chill out in between visits to the local Acadia scenery. It's a great place!

Adorable cabin and very communicative hosts! Great location in Acadia but not the best spot behind a business and next to a busy road. Would recommend but not for the price.

We had a great weekend. The cabin is very well done and charmingly quaint. It's in a very nice location for driving to Acadia and the surrounding areas. The bed was comfortable and the area quiet. Enjoyed our stay.

This cabin is amazing!! My boyfriend and I came here for a weekend away to enjoy Maine / bar harbor / Acadia national park and coming home to this cabin after spending the day out exploring was just what we needed. The beds were super comfy, the cabin still smells like wood and is so adorable, the little kitchen was a big help so we were able to make breakfast, the bathroom was a great size, and the wifi and smart TV in the loft was great for unwinding! The hosts were easy to get in contact with but didn't really bother us otherwise ! The town is super cute with a nice downtown area with a few food places and shops and a market, and it's very easy to get to bar harbor and Acadia. We definitely recommend staying here! :)

My husband and I loved Michael's cabin. It's new, modern, charming, tastefully decorated, and smelled like wood (a particular feature that we love in a wooden house). The location is great for Southwest Harbor, but the cabin itself is not as secluded as it looks in the photo. It was quiet and private, however. Kristen was very helpful once we arrived, though we had some difficulty finding the cabin upon our arrival. I highly recommend Michael's cabin for your visit to Acadia!
