The space

Holiday cottage in Fuerteventura around 1 km away from Tuineje town on a quiet area of scattered houses. The house combine, after restoration, the old structures with a modern style, and the decoration manages to create a cozy and comfortable atmosphere. At the entry we acceded directly to a wide room where we can find on the left a well equipped kitchen, followed by the dining room and on the right side the living room with Sat-TV. Then we access to a bedroom with double bed, convertible into 2 single beds and bathroom with shower. From the living room we can directly access to a terrace with a dining room and then the pool and the solarium with deckchairs. The equipment, the atmosphere and the situation of the rural house and Fuerteventura island are a well combination for a good holidays.

Arrived late and in the dark, a quick phone call to the home owner and she was there within minutes. House is every much described as pictures are seen here on Airbnb, all amenities are brand new or appear to be new and therefore are spotless, in fact the entire house was absolutely spotless. The location is as described rural and secluded although within one kilometre of a very well stocked supermarket run by awfully nice people. There is a house across the road which appears to over look the property but in fact very difficult for them to see anything leading the property to be very private. We had one occasion to contact the home owner about a problem with the water which was rectified immediately. If I was to knit pick, and it is only a knit pick it would be the fact that two single beds are zipped together to make a double, this causes a seam in the centre of the bed which as a couple like we are one can feel this as sleeping. We easily overcame this by placing a duvet and redressing said bed. A super property to stay in, so much so that we are planning our return later this year. Sean & Gary

The villa is fantastic. It more than lives up to the description and the photos. In fact the photos don't capture the scale of the place, there is so much space. We wanted somewhere away from heavy tourism where we could relax in privacy around our own pool, this place ticked all the boxes. The villa has everything you need. You will need a car if you want to explore the island although we were happy to spend each day by the pool. If you are looking for somewhere that you are able to wander to local bars and restaurants Tuineje probably isn't for you as it very much a local Canarian town with one shop and 2 small bars. The next town along, Tiscamanita, has a great bar/restaurant called Casa Luis that serves excellent local food, Luis the owner is a superstar! The bakery here is also good and the supermarket has a fresh meat counter. Overall, we had an amazing stay, it was exactly what we were looking for.

A fabulous villa in a rural spot, as described. If you want to get away from the usual tourist stops, this is perfect. We had no problems with either the hot water or the dishwasher (see a recent previous review). We had a car which we felt was vital.

We had a very pleasant stay, the house is very comfortable and clean, good location, quiet and not too overlooked. one thing to watch out for the SATNAV wants to take you to another part of the village so go with the owners directions!

We stayed in this property in mid Feb '17 and had wanted to book a week away in the relative warmth of the Canaries. We chose this property because it looked amazing in the pictures and it was in the middle of the Island away from the hustle and bustle. We didn't quite have the stay we had intended due to several factors... We were unable to use the dishwasher after the first day as the cold water supply was turned off (we were advised that the water is restricted in Fuerteventura). We did our washing up by using the cold water tap in the bathroom and carrying it in a saucepan to the kitchen where there was hot water, boiling hot water infact (be mindful if you take small children). This was far from ideal when a dishwasher was supplied for use. The water supply to the shower in the bathroom was only sufficient enough for one person to have a 3 minute shower before the water went cold. We contacted the owners (via the third party letting agent) about this twice in the first three days. They came out and told us that the tank was of small capacity and would only enable a short shower, that we'd have to shower then wait for 15 minutes or so for the water to reheat before the second person could shower, again for upto 3 minutes. The twin zip together beds are the worst we've ever stayed in. The mattress is probably coil sprung and has a comfort factor of zero. My partner ended up sleeping on two duvets because the bed made his back so sore (he does not suffer from a bad back). The zip together beds could be marginally improved with a mattress topper from Ikea (down the road), but really the mattress needs changing, ideally to one Kingsize double, with probably a memory foam component. We were unaware that we'd be dealing with a third party and not directly with the owner of the property, which in itself wasn't a particular issue, but I think it would have been worth knowing that we weren't in direct contact with the owner of the property. In Summary, both the owners of the property and the rental company were as helpful as they could be during our stay, but couldn't really fix the issues we were encountering. The location, being right in the middle of Fuerteventura is off the beaten track and is in a residential area, it's not really geared up for tourists and appears to have suffered in recent years from lack of investment compared to the rest of the Island.
