Ellerson House, is a fully modernized vacation home, with luxury appointments for the discerning traveler. The home affords year round access, and is great for groups of any and all ages. Four zoned HVAC, WIFI, big screen TV's and more bring modern conveniences to this true WNC experience. Walk or bike to town and all the local activities. The driveway has a slight incline approach to the home, so in the Winter exercise caution with potential ice.
Ellerson House is a true Craftsman Bungalow design with all original doors, windows, beams, floors & fireplaces. William R Ellerson was a businessman in Asheville and Madison County. He was a business partner with E.W. Grove - builder of Grove park Inn and the Grove Arcade. The two local giants were acquiring land to build a "Grove Park Inn 2", in Hot Springs, when Grove died in 1927. Ellerson built the house in 1920 for his new wife - who was a descendent of the founder of Hot Springs, William Nielson.
With soaring vistas, high ceilings, massive fireplaces, impeccable attention to historical details and hard wood floors, you will immediately feel pampered at Ellerson House. The great room, with plenty of space to unwind, and fully equipped, large chef's kitchen and dining table for 14, is where everyone will want to gather to enjoy their time together. But, if you need some “alone time”, there is plenty of space inside and out to find your own serenity. There are 3 outside porches, decks, and patios for ultimate outdoor relaxation.
There is plenty to do at the house, including a full "Play Barn Game Room", separate from the house for hours of fun, with pool, ping pong, corn hole and more. The back porch has a gas grill, dining table and hot tub with views into the Pisgah National Forest The expansive decks & porches are just off the Kitchen/Great Room & out the side door, and off the rear terrace level. All of these afford additional outdoor space to relax & unwind. Everyone enjoys the front porch, it's fireplace, the rolling river and the night sky as it fills with stars.
Take a seat and enjoy the sound of nature and the serenity in your own private paradise at the top of the world. There is also a private trail down to the river!

Early Check In and/or Late Check Out may be possible, depending on cleaning schedules and other reservations. If it is possible, there may be an additional fee that would be determined based on the time that you wish to check in or out and the seasonal rates.
Pets: Many of our guests have allergies so we have maintained a pet-free environment so they can enjoy their vacation without the potential of an allergic reaction. If you have a pet we can recommend some alternatives nearby.
