If you want a taste of country life as it should be, stay here! It is a fabulous but make sure to stay more than two nights. The house is spacious, immaculate, and fully equipped. I felt as though I was staying in a country manor or estate with the details and furnishings of this house. And it is centrally located to Fátima, the beach at Nazaré, and at least 3 UNESCO World Heritage sites. We absolutely loved this place better than any other we stayed at during our month in Spain and Portugal. And José could not have been more gracious, even leaving us a wonderful bottle of port wine as a welcome. Fabulous!

The house was big and comfortable. Fully equipped and even more. We were four adults and 2 kids who could play outside in the garden or in the house. The position is perfect to easily reach the beautiful towns in the surroundings. José was nice and we had very good time.

The house is very big, clean and complete with anything you need. The host Mr Jose and wife are very helpful and show us around the house. He even provide us with the contact umber and address of plant nursery we want to go. Overall i would recommend this place to everyone wish to visit Porto de Amos and surrounding area. I really have great time in Portugal with my family and wish to visit there again soon. Yaakob family Malaysia

Everything as described - very nice, clean and spacious house with perfect back yard and all needed facilities, in a small village hidden in a natural park. Excellent location – during our stay we easily accessed such points of interest in Estremadura and Ribatejo as Batalha, Alcobaça, Tomar, Leiria and Atlantic beaches at S. Pedro de Moel. José is very responsible and affable host. We would highly recommend José’s house for big companies or families with children travelling by car.

We had a good time with our family of seven in Jose's house.` The rustic house is well located close to the major interesting sites (very close to Bathala, Alcobaca, some 30 minutes away from Nazare's beach or 45 min. from Tomar). Needless to mention that the location is within the natural park where hiking and Mountain biking is possible) The house is as described, a rustic house of Jose's family, in a very secluded small village (quite off the beaten track and hence a car is much needed, all shops being in Porto de Mos, some 10 km away) Quietness is a real pleasure. Jose was a wonderful host, having prepared fruits, water, beer, charcoal, etc, etc... We would recommend Jose's House for those who have a transportation mean.

Jose's beautiful country house is, well, beautiful! It's just the sort of house we were hoping to rent: a big old house with one-foot-thick hewn granite walls and those gorgeous wooden ceilings and hardwood floors I've enjoyed at several properties in Portugal and northern Spain. The layout and distribution was ideal for us: the bedrooms are off to one side of the house, with one full bathroom there; the common rooms are enormous: kitchen, huge living room, wreck room. But we spent most of the time on the porch out back, with the built-in barbecue and the large back yard. We travelled with to young cats who adored climbing the olive trees, and we appreciated the effort Jose went to in putting a bit of fence on top of the stone walls surrounding the property. The overall effect is one of comfort and of understated beauty of natural materials . The kitchen is fully equipped (except there was not coffee maker!), even has a dishwasher. The location is up in the hills near Porto de Mós, but you're not totally isolated because it is in a little village. It's off the beaten track, but still within an hour's drive from a lot of fascinating places in Portugal. The weather was really hot in August but it was still nice and cool inside. This would be a great place to rent in other times of year, when it's rainy and green and cool and you could light a fire. Regarding Jose, he was there waiting for us as planned; he's a really nice, solid, down-to-earth man. I felt I could trust him as soon as I met him.

My family and I (2 adults and 2 children) had a great time in this country house. The house had exactly the facilities that we were looking for, which made our stay feel almost like home. The location made it easy for us to reach sights like Alcobaca, Batalha, Tomar, San Antonio and Alta Mira caves, and the incredible dinosaur footprints south of Fatima. Also, we enjoyed a peaceful walk along the EcoPista in Serro Ventoso and a game of mini golf in Porto de Mos.
