Rose Cottage is the last property at the end of a country lane. The Lodge is a large separate studio flat over the double garage. We live in the cottage. You will have access to the hot tub and several seating areas where you can enjoy the secluded area and stunning views. You will love Rose Cottage because of the outdoors space and the neighbourhood. There are forest walks and other nearby actives. It is ideal for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers or families with a young child.

The space

The apartment consists of a very large room - bedroom / dining area / lounge space, a spacious shower room and fully equipped kitchen.
There is a standard double bed. Also, a put you up single bed and travel cot are available.

Laundry facilities are available in the cottage.

Guest access

You will have private access to the apartment from outside steps. There is an outside deck with table and chairs and a hot tub, which you can use. You are free to access other areas of the garden and the 12 acres of hill, where our friendly goats and Jacob sheep graze. We also have poultry and you are welcome to try our free range eggs.

Interaction with guests

We are looking forward to welcoming guests to our home as we know it is a beautiful, relaxing, inspiring and energising place. We have lived here with our family for 25 years and Roger was brought up on The Slad, so he has lots of interesting tales to tell of country life in the 40's and 50's.
We will serve breakfast, if requested, in our Garden Room, or provide local produce for you to cook your own, e.g. bacon, eggs, bread form our local bakery etc.

Other things to note

We have two collie dogs and three cats as well as the poultry, sheep and goats.

Gail greeted us with a homemade loaf of bread and a couple eggs from her farm. We had a nice quiet stay at the farm.

Gail is a great host. We had a really nice time at her place enjoying the hot tub, the yummy breakfast in the garden room and the friendly company of her goats. :) It is a perfect place to relax. Recommended.

What an amazing place to stay! It was secluded and quiet yet a short drive to the pub for dinner and not too far from a town. The animals were friendly - including the horses and goats- the bed was comfortable and Gail baked some delicious fresh bread. I would stay again in a heart beat and wish I didn't have to leave so quickly. A must if you are looking to stay somewhere quiet in the Cotswolds.

We decided on a last minute holiday and I booked this trip at around 10pm the night before. Gail replied a few minutes after I booked it, which was the quickest reply I could have received, especially at 10pm at night! The property was lovely and the views were so beautiful! The hot tub was a great touch and we spent loads of time in it just relaxing and winding down from a long day exploring the area. The kitchen and bathroom were both stocked with necessities, which was such a helpful touch, and the TV area had some DVD's to choose from and a book shelf with some good reads on it. The bed was large and the space was the perfect size for my boyfriend and I. Gail and her husband were wonderful hosts and so friendly and accommodating. There were two super friendly and calm dogs who greet you when you arrive and act like they've known you forever. The value was incredible for what you get, which was relaxation, scenic views and friendly hosts. The fresh eggs and home-made bread from Gail were fantastic as well! We will definitely be visiting again in the future! :)

Wonderful stay at Gail and Rogers, such lovely hosts. The extra little touches really stood out, the homemade bread was lovely. As for the hot tub, we went in everyday and loved it - sipping a glass of vino looking up at the stars really made the weekend. As for the location.. it is far out but this is what we love... chance to get away from reality. Some lovely walks and cosy local pubs around. Gloucester and Three Choirs Vineyard not too far awag. Fab!

In September 2016 I embarked on the new adventure - retirement, after 45 years in education. I am a very proud mum of two sons who are also educators and three adorable granddaughters. Roger (my husband of almost 44 years) and I have lived in glorious Gloucestershire, at Rose Cottage, for the last 25 years, after many years in East London but having originally hailed from Gloucestershire. We are living the dream and really appreciate what we have. It is wonderful to be able to share this with visitors, friends and family.
