Escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life with a peaceful and relaxing stay at Fisherman’s Lodge. Set along the scenic headland of Lambs Head on the Wild Atlantic Way, this cosy retreat is an ideal base for a family holiday or a quiet coastal escape. Derrynane National Park and Beach are just a 10-minute drive. From stargazing to kayaking in the bay, there’s no shortage of activities nearby or simply slow down and enjoy the tranquillity. Here, you can do as little or as much as you like

The space
Fisherman’s Lodge is a cosy two-bedroom retreat sleeping up to four guests, offering rustic charm and a true home-away-from-home feel. The lodge features an open-plan kitchen, dining, and living area, thoughtfully equipped with everything you need, including pots and pans, herbs and spices, tea and coffee, plus a small utility room with a fridge/freezer and washing machine. There is one comfortable double bedroom and one twin bedroom.

After a day hiking the mountains or enjoying the nearby beaches, unwind by the wood-burning stove, especially welcoming during the winter months. The bathroom includes an electric shower, wash hand basin, and toilet. Outside, a small patio provides the perfect spot to relax in the evening sun or enjoy a summer BBQ. On clear nights, the patio is ideal for stargazing, with January and February being particularly special months for it. Set in a very quiet and safe area, the lodge may not have sea views from the door, but a short stroll rewards you with some of the finest views of Derrynane Beach and The Kenmare Bay.

There is a patio area where you can sit outside & relax, maybe even have a BBQ! There is private parking.

Other things to note
Please note that The Lambs Head Road is a narrow country road and may feel challenging for some drivers. We recommend taking it slow and enjoying the beautiful scenery along the way — it will be worth the journey.

We have a dog and a very friendly cat who may drop by to say hello during your stay.

While there is no direct sea view from the lodge, a short two-minute stroll will reward you with stunning views over Kenmare Bay and Derrynane Bay.
