A small one bedroom apartment on the second floor with double bedroom, bathroom & sitting-room/kitchen is perfectly located in the quiet district of Temple bar slap bang in the heart of Dublin City Centre. Offering prime City living overlooking the gates of Dublin Castle. Encompassing Temple Bar, City Hall, Christchurch, Patrick's Cathedral, Trinity College and Guinness storehouse a short stroll away. Dublin's best is right at your doorstep!

The space
Our property is available to rent for that perfect short City break. My house is more than three centuries old, and this compact apartment has without question an unbeatable view towards the prestigious Dame Street. Inside the apartment has been newly refurbished. Our building has its quirks, is rather slender with a narrow steep stairs in a prime City Centre location.
The house is in an amazing location. Dublin got its name from "Dubh" meaning black and "linn" meaning pool (in Irish) which is named after the black river poddle. Interestingly this river Poddle is now concealed and runs right under our street, which used to be the river that transported goods to Dublin Castle.

**PLEASE NOTE OUR PROPERTY IS CONSERVED SO THERE IS NO LIFT TO THIS APARTMENT. GUESTS WILL HAVE STEPS ON THE ORIGINAL NARROW STAIRCASE OF THE MAIN HOUSE. So if your knees are good and your heart in ship shape, prime City living is worth the climb! ***We regret we cannot be wheelchair accessible. APARTMENT IS STRICTLY NON SMOKING & NON PARTY LISTING.

Our location could not be more convenient! From the large windows in the sitting room you can see Dublin Castle pedestrian gate and the cute little French cafe perched at the entrance gates. One street behind us is the famous Temple Bar where the craic is mighty! (Great fun) Standing at our front door you can see Trinity College to your right and Christ Church Cathedral to your left. Although our property is on the edge of the Temple Bar district we also have the added advantage of not being in the craziness of Temple Bar main street itself, so you can sleep in the standard double bedroom tucked away to the rear of the property. On occasion the Olympia Theatre can host great acts like Emelie Sandé, Rod Stuart or great broadway shows, tickets book out fast so do check out what's on Olympia Dublin before arrival to avoid disappointment. Don't worry that we are so close to the theatre background music may only be heard on very odd gigs but this finishes at 11pm sharp.

Where you’ll be

Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland

I love living in this part of the City and I hope you do too. What I love about my neighbourhood is the first morning views from our large windows straight to the Prestigious Dame Street, and below you can view the little French café where early risers sip over their morning coffee. It is rare to have such a view in a superb location in Dublin. There is lots to see and do in my area among all the famous sites there are plenty of cute cafes, award winning restaurants and great pubs.

Alfresco morning breakfast at the Queen of Tarts on Cows lane, where I often read the morning paper with a sweet treat and tea from a china cup. Afternoon croissant on the heated terrace of the Castle gates with a great coffee outside Chez Max restaurant. My favourite family friendly Italian restaurant Toscana is right on my street, where they grow their own vegetables and salads from their family farm-house. The Pizzeria downstairs Forno 500° is fantastic for the “real” Neapolitan pizza. Morning or evening yoga in the studio across my street through the lane at the back of the castle. A stroll in the park in the Castle grounds on a sunny day or a visit to the Chester Beatty library!

I love the people, the smile and even in the rain the fun and bustle of my City. The farmers organic market just around the corner, on a Saturday, hail rain or shine! I love the walks around Trinity College and a visit to its long library and book of Kells that can be viewed there. A short stroll to Christ Church Cathedral and its beautiful crypt or to sunbathe in St Patrick's Cathedral gardens when the sun visits Dublin. A stroll to Guinness Store house to view Dublin from their sky bar. I love the shopping on Grafton Street and feeding the ducks in St Stephens Green. Of course when it rains the great craic and traditional music in the wonderful bars here in Temple Bar any time of day. But my favourite bars have to be the Stags head off Dame Street behind the Mercantile or Hogans on George's St. 200 Year old Pub The Long Hall also gets my star rating. Our neighbourhood for sure is most convenient for getting around with all the sights on our doorstep. But best of all I love the sense of history here in the oldest quarter of Dublin, where so much Irish history has been written.
