Yes 110 steps but God did we have great legs at the end of 11 days ! Great views , away from any noise down below where there are plenty of resturants and bars. The apartment was clean and tidy. The DIY still brings a smile , but reflects the price . We would defiantly stay again if only for the home made cake
The hosts are extremely nice and helpful with everything. The apartment is spacious, clean and cosy. The location is great, just next to the port. If you have a heavy suitcase as I did, then the stairs might be a problem. Otherwise it is not hard. All in all it is a beautiful place with great hosts and we were very pleased.
Despoina'a place is located in the heart of Merichas. It was clean and all facilities were as described. Despoina was extremely flexible with check-in and check-out processes. She welcomed us with home-made, delicious, butter cookies! Accessing the house via stairs may seem discouraging at first, but after the second "climb" it's fun and makes you feel fit!
Great value for money. We didn't expect luxuries for such a bargain of a price but it was disappointing that the air conditioning unit in the living room didn't work well. The bedroom unit was fine. The bathroom is rather small but good enough. If you're very tall, you might have some issues. The host Despina is very friendly and accommodating and let us leave our luggage in her house after check out. She even offered us some fresh fruit and homemade cake on arrival. Thanks . For a group of friends travelling on a budget this is the perfect place. Keep in mind it's a bit of a climb to reach the house, exactly 108 meters.
Despoina/Sofia are super friendly and though we spent very little time with them they were very helpful and giving. They allowed us to go inside their house a lot earlier among other things. Unfortunately we did not get to interact much with them cause they were away during our stay on the island most of the time. The fact that they let us go inside the house so much earlier, had probably something to do with the cleaning level, which could improve. Of course, you are given many notices about the steps, but apart from being many (around 110) many of them are quite steep. Definitely would not recommend for a family with young children. The house could use some improvements, especially in the bathroom, which has very limited space, the sink is moving a lot and most of the time is humid and very wet. Pictures are as seen. In general it is priced fairly, we were 5 of us staying there, which I would not recommend. Up to 3 is best.
