About this listing

The café loft is a bijou cosy bright room with breath-taking views over the surrounding pasture and mountians. It is furnished with a futon (fold out double bed) with dimmable reading lights above. There are 2 windows which let in lots of light. It has a soft fully fitted carpet, electric heater, Satellite T.V. and DVD player with a selection of DVD's to watch. There is free Wi-Fi and access to the café kitchen and seating area after closing hours.

The space

The café loft is a private room above the Coomarkane Visitor Centre Café. It is accessed by a pull down loft ladder with handles for grip and sturdy foot placements. Children should be supervised when using the ladder when the loft hatch is open.
Below the loft is the café kitchen which is well equipped with filtered hot and cold water, fridge, microwave, oven, kettle etc. There is seating in the café with a large table. A short walk from the café is the shower room/ Eco toilet.
Next to the café is the studio/workshop where art produced here can be viewed. There is a river on the land with a decked picnic area, hammocks to lie in and a small holding set on 2 acres, with organic vegetable garden, chickens, ducks, a goat, cats and a pig.
The Café is on a walking route called the Beara-Breifne Way, so access to the walk is on our doorstep. We are also 0.5 km to the Glengarriff Nature Reserve with beautiful forest and river walks and cycling routes, bikes can be hired locally.

Guest access

Access to the café kitchen is available after 5pm and before 9am. There is access to café seating and tables, bathroom and grounds at all times during your stay.

Interaction with guests

We are close by at all times as we work in the studio and café so come in for a chat and to ask about the area.
We may also have other guests staying so company is never far away, especially near the communal campfire or river seating area.
We are happy to host a BBQ in the evenings, when it is convenient, please enquire.

Other things to note

All conveniences are available in Glengarriff village, which is 5KM away, so it may be an idea to stock up on what ever you may need for your stay. The café is open from 9am-5pm where food and beverages may be bought, we also have some hiking/camping equipment for sale, organic home grown vegetables and eggs.

Amazing location for those wanting easy access to local hikes and forest parks. Some great free climbing and remote hiking. Accommodation was compact, clean and tidy. Audrey and Les were wonderful hosts and shared much knowledge on little known local hikes. Les was really generous with his time picking me up and dropping me off. The location is stunning.

We are a creative, friendly couple who love to meet new people, through travelling or by greeting guests to our little piece of heaven in the Coomarkane Valley.
The valley is situated 5 KM from Glengarriff village. The narrow road winds through the Glengarriff Nature Reserve, where Ireland's original and oldest forestation grows, with lots of native animals to be spotted from frogs to dear. The valley we live in is ideally situated for hill walkers, cyclists and nature lovers.
