The café loft is a private room above the Coomarkane Visitor Centre Café. It is accessed by a pull down loft ladder with handles for grip and sturdy foot placements. Children should be supervised when using the ladder when the loft hatch is open.
Below the loft is the café kitchen which is well equipped with filtered hot and cold water, fridge, microwave, oven, kettle etc. There is seating in the café with a large table. A short walk from the café is the shower room/ Eco toilet.
Next to the café is the studio/workshop where art produced here can be viewed. There is a river on the land with a decked picnic area, hammocks to lie in and a small holding set on 2 acres, with organic vegetable garden, chickens, ducks, a goat, cats and a pig.
The Café is on a walking route called the Beara-Breifne Way, so access to the walk is on our doorstep. We are also 0.5 km to the Glengarriff Nature Reserve with beautiful forest and river walks and cycling routes, bikes can be hired locally.

Guest access

Access to the café kitchen is available after 5pm and before 10am. There is access to café seating and tables, bathroom and grounds at all times during your stay.

Interaction with guests

We are close by at all times as we work in the studio and café so come in for a chat and to ask about the area.
We may also have other guests staying so company is never far away, especially near the communal campfire or river seating area.
We are happy to host a BBQ in the evenings, when it is convenient, please enquire.

Other things to note

All conveniences are available in Glengarriff village, which is 5KM away, so it may be an idea to stock up on what ever you may need for your stay. Absolutely loved this place. The setting is stunning, lots of beautiful walks to do nearby and the room was really cosy. Audrey was a lovely host.

My husband and I had a great stay in Audrey's loft. The room was nice and cosy. The set up is great with the little cafe and visitors centre. The area is really peaceful and ideal for walking and hiking. Don't rely on (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) maps for directions. Audrey's directions and the signs are much better. If driving, on the glengarriff to adrigole road, there's a right turn that's easy to miss a few hundred metres outside the town.

Highly recommend! I loved my stay here. Audrey and Les are such wonderful caring hosts. Their set up is unique and inspiring and in such a beautiful part of the world. The highlight for me was the walk to the lake, no one around and it was stunning!

We had a wonderful stay in the small but very comfy loft. The kitchen of the connected café was very well equipped and we used it for making breakfast. Audrey and Les were the nicest possible hosts, we had nice chats and they gave us useful advice when we asked for it, lso offered us a ride to town or any other assistance needed. We loved Audrey's homemade apple-pie <3! The surroundings are very beautiful and quiet. I would love to go back there!!

Audrey's place is a gem! She and husband were fantastic hosts who made our stay a very memorable experience. The remote location and surroundings are stunning. Considering that they are off grid its amazing how they provide great showers with a TV in the cabin. I would recommend a stay! Make sure you try their free range eggs they are the best!!

It was fantastic to stay at this secluded site, amongst a stunning Irish forest. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful, and they have the best compost toilet you'll ever see!

Lovely and cozy cabin. And such a peaceful landscape around. Les and Audrey are very kind people and did welcome us warmly even later and in rainy night than intended (so sorry again!). They built up a well planned and thought-out location with so much heart in it. I really enjoyed my stay there and can highly recommend the place to anyone. Would love to come back and stay there again. Audrey's quiche is the best! Baked with heart.

Audrey User ProfileAudrey is a superhost.

We are a creative, friendly couple who love to meet new people, through travelling or by greeting guests to our little piece of heaven in the Coomarkane Valley.
The valley is situated 5 KM from Glengarriff village. The narrow road winds through the Glengarriff Nature Reserve, where Ireland's original and oldest forestation grows, with lots of native animals to be spotted from frogs to dear. The valley we live in is ideally situated for hill walkers, cyclists and nature lovers.
