Characterful, self contained, ground floor, courtyard annex in beautiful countryside. Great for families (and children), small groups, couples, walkers, cyclists and solo adventurers. Convenient also for work commitments in Stevenage, Luton, Cambridge and London (via Hitchin station - 5 miles). Dogs welcome. Rural but not remote, adjacent to main house and hamlet with pub 200m. Ample car & cycle parking. We are also only 15 minutes from Luton Airport (if you are en route to the airport).

This is a really great place to stay. The cottage was peaceful and comfortable. Mary was a great host, and made us feel very welcome. I would recommend this to anyone who was thinking of staying in the area.

The cottage is really pretty and nicely decorated. Mary and her husband are very nice and helpful. The problem is with the comfort: there is no real shower and it is not possible to mix hot and cold water. The thermostat on the heating system doesn't work. But we have to say tha…

The photograph of the cottage bathroom clearly shows there is no mixer tap or shower, and we resolved this by buying a shower hose attachment. The weather was very variable over a two week stay and the heating is very easy to switch on and off when needed.

Look out for the Grange and not the cottage, as you can't see it from the road. Our kids loved it, there was a games room with table tennis too!. The grounds were lovely, and it would have been good to stay longer, walking the dog.

Mary and her husband were warm, welcoming and very helpful. The cottage is comfortable in a peaceful setting, with everything we needed for our stay. Although not advertised as providing breakfast, there was butter and milk in the fridge, a loaf of bread, marmalade, tea, coffee…
