Please note: To drive in Japan, you must bring:
1. Your own national driver's licence.
2. An INTERNATIONAL DRIVING PERMIT (based on the Geneva Convention of 1949)
International driving permits are not issued in Japan and should be obtained in your home country in advance. They are usually issued through your country's national automobile association for a small fee. Failure to produce both documents will mean you cannot legally drive in Japan.
Hi, I have been living in Hokkaido for 19 years, 11 in Niseko.
The outdoors is what makes me stay here, makes a great place to bring up our young family of 3 kids.
In summer it's all about golf, road/MT biking, running, swimming, hiking and skating. Then winter snowboarding, work and the backcountry.
I hope everyone coming here has a great time and gets out into the great outdoors!
