The Chill Out Room is on the ground floor, street side, with 1 comfortable large double bed and access to a shared bathroom. When we are not hosting or preparing for retreats, we offer yogis and meditators residency in our rooms. You will have access to our stunning yoga shala for self-practice, the beautiful garden for relaxation and you have the option to eat with us and sample our sensational vegan food. Stay and just relax, or spend your days exploring this magical region.
The house feels like a Temple, it is an oasis of calm. Scent of Ethiopian incense accompanies the fresh coffee in the morning. Breakfast is freshly made juice, raw chia or oat porridge, or fresh croissants from the local bakery. The rooms are vast and uncluttered, and individually styled. The yoga shala is on the top floor, overlooking the medieval roof tops, greeting the morning sun. There is plenty of space in the house and in the garden where you can relax or get to know like-minded guests (maximum guests in the centre is 12).

You will have to option to dine with us (additional cost), please let us know by mid-day. There are restaurants, caffees and bars in the area where you can do your own thing.
- To assist reflection and integration, we remain internal and observe Noble Silence until breakfast (10am) each day. You are expected to respect this.
- In line with our yogic principles, we operate an alcohol free premises.
- Breakfast is included in the price. If you wish to dine with us, you will need to let us know by noon on each day (not included in the price).
- Yobaba Lounge is a private members club. Daily Club Membership is included in the nightly rate.
Gertrud is a retired international fencing athlete, a massage therapist, and a Reiki practitioner. She has studied different approaches to meditation and mindfulness and has a deep interest in the non-dual philosophies detailed in the eastern Shaivinist Tantras. Drawing on these and other interests, Gertrud has formalised a mindfulness practice called Embodied Meditation, which she teaches on retreat at Yobaba Lounge. The practice incorporates use of Ujjayi breath, mindful movement, and uses sound and visualisations to facilitate a deep state of meditation and awareness of inner space.
She has transformed her own life through this comprehensive healing practice.
Gertrud has also developed a mindfulness food philosophy and clean food diet which compliments and accompanies the retreats she runs.
Gertrud is hugely grateful to her teachers Anaiya Sophia, Maria Rawlins, Mangalo, Amaranatho and authors, current and historical, whose writings have given context to her journey.
Gertrud now spends her time between London and the village chateau she renovated in Chalabre, situated in one of the most magical areas of the Southern-French Pyrenees.
