Thanks for this, Pin. It has been nice for me too !
I answer to your private comments here, so that the next ones will know my position.
Concerning the arrival : it is said before you book that check in is between 5 and 7, because I work. So you have the choice to accept it, or not. It is said again in another mail you get before you arrive, and many solutions are proposed at this moment : lockers, and maps. But as you can't reproach a red coat you've bought to be red, you can't reproach my check in to be this one. I cannot spend so many hours talking with people who come to my place, advising and helping them as much as I can, and have no time for anything else, (work, actually)...
Concerning the shower which was "not clean", it is done everyday, by me. I am most surprised. If you had said so, I would have been glad to have a look ...and clean it again. There is also, in the bathroom, a sponge and cleaner so that you can do it yourself if you are suspicious (which I am, when not in my home, so I totally understand).
Concerning the balance between quality and price : at the moment, it is super high season in Colmar. You cannot find a place in a hotel, even if you pay twice the price you have paid to come to my place, and you won't have half of what you had (home made warm spiced wine, breakfast with home made jam, in an historical building, in a home that is brand new, plus all the services). If you come in low season, it might be cheaper, but at that moment, no one complains on how I make ends meet. Airbnb is a market : it means that it mooves, ... according to a context.
I hope I have answered as honestly as possible. I just would like that guests take into account that I do my best, but even my best as limits. 30 euros for that much, is definitely a good deal. It is more expensive now, because there is no place left. But booking for a room before the last minute could have helped finding a better price.
