Connie and Cora are great hosts. The basement "room" feels more like an apartment, with its own sitting area, fridge, sink, microwave, fireplace and windows. It's a beautiful location and a beautiful, well thought out home. Connie kindly answered several questions we had about local hiking routes and filled in some particularly helpful details on our planned hike. This is a great location for accessing Salida, Buena Vista, Arkansas River fishing, Monarch, and the Collegiate Peaks. And we left with a new recipe that we're excited to try. We're looking forward to the next time we get to stay with Connie and Cora.

Connie and Cora were the most hospitable hosts during my week in Colorado. They're both a wealth of knowledge and are very open to giving recommendations for things to do in the area as well as inviting you to hikes and neighborhood activities. Their home is beautiful, clean, and spacious. My stay was the perfect balance of group activities with Connie/Cora and solo unwinding time. I'm definitely planning on coming back!

Connie was a great host. Her specific directions to reach her house were detailed and accurate. The house is in a fantastic location, with beautiful mountain views and easy access in 20 minutes to either Buena Vista or Salida. The bedroom and downstairs area were very clean and welcoming and Connie was glad to chat several times during my two day stay about Colorado's sites and trails, both local and throughout the state. A super place to stay.

If you want to experience Colorado as it is, then you must stay here. Connie has such great knowledge of the area and will help you plan your adventures. Her enthusiasm is infectious. With a goal of climbing a mountain, she suggested which would be best and when we needed to get going. We had a great time and would definitely stay here again.

Connie User ProfileConnie is a superhost.

I love nature and being outdoors, traveling, conscious living (healthy eating, small footprint) and always learning/growing. My favorite outdoor activity is backpacking and when combined with traveling, that is the best! I have trekked in Nepal and Peru along with thru-hiked the Colorado Trail and bagged most of Colorado's 14ers. My other interests include sustainable architecture, off-grid living, homesteading and cooking.
