Traditional Irish stone cottage overlooking Bantry Bay and the Atlantic. Jim's Place has been completely restored and extended and has a comfortable living room, modern kitchen, two bedrooms and a small bathroom with shower. Glass doors and plenty of windows fill the cottage with light and the wood burning stove creates a cozy atmosphere.

The space
The cottage, Jim's Place, is on the south side of the Bere island at the end of the road. It has been completely restored and has a comfortable living room with a wood burning stove and a good kitchen well equipped with all the day to day utensils. The extension of one double bedroom with all round views and a door to the outside patio, a smaller cozy twin bedroom and a bathroom with shower make the cottage an ideal holiday home. Surrounded by farmland and far reaching views, Jim's Place is the perfect cottage for those looking for peace and quiet or for a family holiday. Maps, ferry timetables and local information are all provided in the cottage to make your stay as relaxing and enjoyable as possible.
Let me know which ferry you will be arriving on and I will be there to meet you and lead you to the cottage. As the cottage is a way from anywhere a car is highly recommended as there is no public transport and some of the roads are very steep.
Pure cotton bed linen, Irish wool blankets, large fluffy towels and sweet smelling toiletries are provided along with a welcome pack of tea, coffee, sugar, milk etc. and firewood.
Sorry, no pets.

Where you’ll be

Bere Island, County Cork, Ireland

Bere Island is a popular holiday destination. It is served by two car ferries, details of which can be found on the Bere Island website - (URL HIDDEN) The pace of life slows as soon as you get off the ferry. There are two pubs, one serving daytime food, a shop selling basic supplies, post office and during the summer two cafes. Please note that there is no ATM or petrol/diesel on the island. There are many signed walks to enjoy and beaches to swim from.
