Great location for walking to anything you want in Port Washington. Amy was great at staying in touch and making it an easy check in. Everything we needed was there and some additional thoughtful things we didn't expect. We thought it was a good value and would stay again.

This location in Port Washington is the best. The basement apartment is in a stately old house & a bit dark & funky, as someone else reported. Check-in was super easy. Thanks, Amy!

Home port was a great find, had a cabin/beach-house feel, close to the lake and downtown shops. Amy was easy to communicate with and very accommodating. There is some noise from the harbor early in the morning, and from above (as the room is below the main house) but we didn't mind and would stay again!

Homeport was a great experience. You couldn't ask for a better location in the heart of downtown between the lake and the shops and right next to the marina. We just loved the feel of the old home with it's quirky layout, old woods, and private apartment feel. If modern is your thing, look to the sterile hotels. Otherwise, take a chance on this fun little bit of historic home.

We were here for 2 nights and loved staying here. We are last-minute trip planners and didn't know what to expect since our choices were very few, but we very happy to find this place. The location is great, literally across the street from the harbor and the charming shops and restaurants are all easy walking distance. The hill with the historic lighthouse is a block away, as is the inter-county bicycle trail. There is a self-guided walking tour of the town as well. It is about a 30 minute drive to Milwaukee, and we found it easy to divide our time between the city and Port Washington. Amy and Pat have made the most of this space, which is in the basement of their large 1800s cream brick house. There are plenty of windows and it gets a lot of morning sun, so you don't feel like you're underground. It used to be a summer kitchen, so the layout and built in cabinets that line the walls have been cleverly converted into a comfortable and homey living space. It accommodates 2 adults comfortably, the kitchen and bathroom are small, but being city dwellers ourselves that didn't bother us. We found everything we needed was provided: plenty of towels, hairdryer, coffeemaker and complimentary coffee and tea, as well as other beverages, maps and tourist guides, TV, wifi. We even cooked a simple meal in the kitchen one evening, and all the implements and dishes we needed were there. Booking, checking in and out were all a breeze. We appreciated our hosts' flexibility with check in/out times. We don't travel a lot, but when we do, we like to feel at home and we certainly did here. Amy and Pat respected our privacy, but communicated with us promptly and were available for anything we needed. We got very good value for the price and we would definitely come here again and stay longer to enjoy the hospitality and explore the Port Washington area more.

We had a great stay at Amy's place in Port Washington. Everything went smoothly and everything was described and expected. The location was very convenient for us - very close to everything we were doing in the area. We'd stay with Amy again on another visit to Port Washington.

My husband and I have lived in Port Washington for over 25 years. We saw this cream city brick home with views of Lake Michigan and in the heart of downtown and knew it was for us! We raised our children here and now have room in our home to share what we've enjoyed with others. I am a professor of education at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. My husband is a real-estate appraiser. We both own and operate PortFish, a non-profit, aquaponics facility. We grow and distribute greens year-round. And, we provide educational tours and consultation about our production process and local food. We are happy to give tours to guests!
