First the pros: - nice communal space with hammocks - nice food at the bar (not cheap though, but not too expensive either) - nice staff (even found us a fan when we were literally distilling sweat) - In the village centre, which means you're the first to be picked up by transfers when moving from Lanquin anywhere else - mosquito net in a part of the window, which allows for minimal ventilation - mattress was confortable Cons: - There is a picture of a pool in the description of the property which doesn't actually exist - Very very hot room (we stayed at private room n5), no air conditioner or fan provided (though they did give us the reception fan, which allowed us to sleep, otherwise it would have been really hard), smelled strongly like humidity, construction was very careless - Not too clean (nor room neither toilet) - pillow smelled like sweat from last customer - No protection in the drainage of the shower, which made me paranoid that any bug could climb the drain into the toilet - Huge cockroach in the room the second night, given that the door is not totally sealed from the outside - 7 mosquitos in the room the first day, had to try killing them under very difficult light for over an hour before sleeping - Internet is paid (20Q per device), though they allowed me to use it for free for 5min just to check the details of our following stay - purified water began being charged for during our stay, 2Q each bottle

While we were late arrivals and transported to an alternate location, we were ultimately extremely happy with our accommodations. Max and all the staff were very helpful and kind. It was a bit of a chore finding our way to Lanquin and to the hostel, from Coban; but with a phone call to Max, we were able to get all the help we needed to make it there! We didn't arrive until well after dark and registration was closed, but the staff was cheery and helpful and got us everything we needed for the night. In the morning we realized we were in paradise! I cannot even describe the absolute beauty of this hostel! I cannot recommend this highly enough!

It's like living in the jungle ! The staff is great, good vibe, good food, nice bar and very close to semuc champay! Lots of colectivos for 20-25 Qtz. Easy access from the main road too. We came around 11PM and we found the place very easy !

Nice place to be to enjoy caipirinha and good music. It's easy to meet some people. The visit to semuc champay was fantastic and organised with the friendly people who work en EL MURO

A good hostel. Comfortable beds with small blankets which was nice. Was expecting to be closer to Zephyr and out of town more because that's what it says but it ended up being alright because we were right in town so we could save on food and catch rides easy to Semuc which is a 25min drive away. Showers could use a bit of a fix or an upgrade as it says it's supposed to be warm water but it was very cold and spat water everywhere. Also, wifi is Q20 per device just FYI. All the hosts were very nice and welcoming and we got a room upgrade which was very nice.
