About this listing

"We loved our stay!....Located in the heart of Dingle we were never more than a minutes walk from good food or live music, and because our host runs the local info/arts paper, he knew everything that was going on in town.... and the bed was so comfy! Definitely would recommend! (Part of guest review)

The space

This is a beautiful property.

You will love the ambience, the outdoors space, the neighbourhood, the comfy bed, the light... This luxurious townhouse is located on a quiet street in the centre of Dingle.

As well as beautiful bedrooms; a large light filled open plan dining / living room opens out onto a patio area and a very large garden. The garden is completely enclosed by the original stone walls - creating a private space in the centre of town - and backs onto the Díseart chapel & grounds. Indeed the chapel's famous Harry Clarke windows overlook the bottom of the garden.

There are 4 en-suite rooms in total - the rear 2 have harbour views in the distance & the front rooms are large delux superking rooms.

This is the perfect place to stay in Dingle.

Guest access

You can have breakfast & relax in the large open plan living / dining room.
This light filled room opens out onto a patio area and a very large garden.

Interaction with guests

We are always delighted to show off Dingle town and the surrounding areas - it's a very beautiful & special place. We will be more than happy to help with suggestions of places to visit, good restaurants etc. We run a local information & cultural magazine - so please do ask!

The neighbourhood

Dingle is quite simply one of the best places in Ireland - to live and visit. The area is steeped in history, culture, music and tradition. You will be perfectly located right next to some of the best restaurants and pubs in Kerry... and beyond! 3 of the top 10 restaurants in Ireland are in Dingle (TripAdvisor, Oct 2016). Enjoy!

Getting around

Free on street parking. Everything in town is in easy walking distance

Other things to note

This property is one of the oldest in Dingle. It is approximately 200 years old and in its time was considered one of the most impressive homes in the town.

The property has an interesting past.... As well as once being the magistrate’s home, it belonged to a lady called Clarisss Hussey, a member of a local wealthy land-owning family. In 1860 Clarissa, a pious Catholic, donated money to build the iconic church in Dingle - St. Mary's. Clarissa is buried under the floor of the church - you can see her grave marked by a plaque on either wall at the front.

This is an environmentally friendly property. A wood pellet stove creates a cosy atmosphere in the open plan living / dining area. This along with a thermodynamic system provides plenty of hot water and heating. We also make every effort to use natural cleaning products throughout the house.

From the outside, this looks like just another house in the colorful row along the main road in Dingle, but inside is quite the treat! Spacious room with a large, comfy bed (my hubby says he wants one for our place back home!), nice rainfall shower, and a gorgeous big garden. Enjoyed lingering over a made-to-order breakfast and tea while enjoying the view out the big windows to the garden. Great suggestions from the lovely hosts for dinner and music out as well - the Blue Zone was just the ticket, with a yummy seafood starter and delicious thin crust pizza. Great location within walking distance to all sorts of fun Dingle dining, pub, and shopping experiences.

We loved the cozy bed, rain shower, super delicious breakfast (that was made to order!), friendly hosts and of course the close proximity to Dingle town center. We are already talking about planning our next trip! Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful time in Dingle at Susan & Lorc's Town House. Highly recommended. It's perfectly situated, just a few mins walk from the centre of town. The house itself is finished to a very high standard and extremely comfortable all round. All communications were easy, helpful and very welcoming. We particularly enjoyed the ambience down in their superb extended conservatory, and Lorc's breakfast was the icing on the cake for us! We will be visiting again, for sure.... Thanks for looking after us....

This newly renovated building provided a perfectly located room in Dingle. The common areas were clean, comfortable and modern with amazing views of Dingle harbor. We were in easy walking distance to everything in Dingle. The owner, who I was able to have several great conversations with, clearly spared no expense on this project. This place is exactly what Airbnb is all about. The owner is also the local tourism publisher and was able to give us some great tips about our travel the next day. I wouldn't hesitate to come back.
