Enjoy a quiet getaway in this charming cabin in the woods nestled on 70 acres. Built around an imported early 1800s barn frame from New York, it is a great spot for couples, solo adventurers, and families. Watch wildlife and relax in oversize rockers on the wrap-around porch. Hike to the top of the mountain for an amazing 20-mile view and gorgeous sunsets. The property is 35 miles to the Magnolia Silos and Baylor McLane Stadium. It is also 9 miles to the drive in movie in Gatesville.

The space

Enjoy a quiet getaway in this charming cabin nestled in the woods. When you enter, you can't help but notice the exposed beams of an early 1800s barn imported from upstate New York. The rustic hand hewn wood surrounded by windows all around creates a warm and inviting atmosphere, bringing the outdoors in. Watch wildlife and relax in oversize rockers on the wrap-around porch, or enjoy the peaceful breeze on the upstairs deck off the master bedroom.
Downstairs is a large open room with a bunk bed (double on bottom bunk and twin on top) as well as a pull out couch. There is a bathroom downstairs with a full kitchen including a dishwasher, stove/oven, microwave and full-sized refrigerator. A gas grill is available to use outside. Head up the spiral staircase to the loft that is open to below. Upstairs houses a queen bed with a large closet, washer and dryer, as well as an exit to the outside upper deck. Dine or play games inside at the barrel-shaped table, or eat outside at the picnic tables.
There is purposely no TV or internet connection. Get ready to unwind, unplug, and enjoy the 70 acres of woods and trails. Take a short hike to the top of the mountain for an unforgettable 20 mile view and amazing sunset. The cabin is about 35 miles to the Magnolia Silo District and Baylor McLane Stadium in Waco. It is 9 miles to the Last Drive-in Picture Show, an outdoor movie theater in Gatesville.

Wow. We had a group of guys stay here and everyone loved it. It is one big room about 40x25 with a bathroom, a surplus of towels, and a queen, a full and twin bed. Pull out couch is the 4th bed if you need it. Kitchen is well-stocked and adequate for all of our meals (breakfast: eggs, sausage, bacon (in oven)). Gas grill on the wraparound patio cooked 40 brats and 13 burgers w/o any problems. Fridge held 40 beers and 30 waters, plus two gallons of milk. The location is fantastic for outdoors enthusiasts. It is the wild. There's a mountain you can hike in the back, with 2 - 3 miles of trails. 4-wheelers would be a ton of fun here. 15 minutes to McGregor where we ate dinner. Best part is that Amy is super responsive. She responded to all texts within seconds and answered all of our questions. Stay here!!!

Our family really enjoyed our time at this lovely cabin. Peaceful and scenic. The kids loved chasing frogs around the pond and finding all the baby turtles hiding in the weeds just under the water's surface. My wife and I enjoyed visiting under the stars on the upstairs balcony. Wonderful place to relax for a couple or family!

This cabin is just as described, the only things that weren't were the indescribable silences, sunrises and sunsets. This is a setting for contemplation, renewal and relaxation. We loved it. Only 35 minutes from Waco, it was the perfect distance to feel away but the short travel was the perfect compliment to end the weekend. Amy was a kind and accessible host. She provided great directions and she promptly responded the only time we had a question. Thank you for your hospitality! We will definitely be returning.
