Amazing tranquil cottage set in stunning castle grounds. COSY fire lit every eve and gorgeous welcome basket with yummy home made bread and jam. Would love to stay here again and would heartily recommended to all.

Really enjoyed our stay here and the owners were fantastic. We stayed for three nights and every evening when we came home a fire was lighting for us. The hosts had the fridge stocked with food and lovely brown bread waiting for us. Meath and Louth offer so much to visitors, well worth a visit and I highly recommend staying here as its central to everything.

A lovely relaxed stay with friendly hosts who even gave us a tour of the castle. An amazing amount of work has been done by Lizanne and Ken in restoring these buildings. The Granary was well equipped and there was milk and some provisions inside when we arrived. We were traveling as a family of 5 - myself, husband, my mum and 2 kids. The place is very child-friendly (Lizanne's granddaughters played with my kids in the grounds) and there are four of the friendliest cats we've ever met. The beds were comfortable and it is a fairly quiet location. This was a great base from where we explored the historical town of Drogheda, the cairns at Bru Na Boinne (Newgrange, Knowth), Loughcrew Cairn. We also did a day trip to Dublin which is in easy driving distance. Lizanne and Ken are great hosts. As the guest washing machine was out of action, Lizanne did all of our laundry for me, including drying it. A great place for a family holiday to be based in County Meath.

Although it feels like you are a million miles from anywhere, this actually is a very convenient location. Less than half an hour from the airport, a few minutes from Julianstown with it's great pub (the Lime Kiln) and close to Drogheda and the lovely beaches of Laytown and Bettystown. The Granary is a cottage in the grounds of the amazing Dardistown Castle, which is just as described. We had a great week and were very impressed with all our dealings with the hosts. From a personal tour of the (1465) castle (which will soon be a new spectacular airbnb apartment ) to the help with any questions and the use of the hosts washing machine, (as there was a problem in the local area with water supply in the previous week so the washing machine for the cottages was not connected), it seemed nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed the tranquillity and freedom for our 2 children. It is an authentic cottage with all of the rustic charms you would hope for. Looking forward to coming back in the future.
