The barn is a converted coach house originally built in the 1850's, with a wood-burner and exposed original stonework and slate floors.
Our place is in The Marches with historical interests like castles and the town of Ludlow nearby. Stunning countryside is all around. You’ll love our place; its location being perfect for hikers, bikers and our local river for wild swimming.
Guests sleep well and comment on the cosiness, setting & the clean air. The night skies are something special if lucky.
Being popular with families and dog owners for walking, it may be useful to know that there is a place to walk your pet on our land 50m away, for the early and late 'duties'.
The barn has a fully equipped kitchen with cooker, microwave, tea and coffee and milk is provided on arrival. Cutlery, crockery, pots and pans and sufficient utensils are in the kitchen for guests use.
Bed linen and towels are also provided so no need to bring with you.
We live next door so should be available to welcome you. Mobile reception is patchy in the area at best (one of the delights of where we live sometimes) so please let us know on (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) mins before you arrive so we can make sure we keep an eye out.
You also have full and private access to a courtyard with seating and furniture for 6 people plus a BBQ and tools. See the photos for more information.
You will have access to the whole property and have your own key to use as needed. There is a separate access to the main door so you will remain independent during your stay and we will leave you to your own devices in your space or engage as much as is desired.
If late access is required on first arrival please call ahead to arrange.
Interaction with guests
Help will be available for any issues as we live right next door. Assistance with starting the wood burner can be requested if needed.
We sometimes have pigs (for meat) and also chickens for eggs. If you have children and we are able, they are welcome to participate in feeding the hens and maybe even collecting the eggs. Fresh eggs may be available for £1.50 for half a dozen when the hens are laying.
Produce from the garden is also available for a price during season, so please do ask if you would like to sample (apples, pears, damsons, cherry's, tayberries, loganberries etc).
Other things to note
There is plenty of parking for two cars and extra cars can be accommodated if needed.
It is possible to squeeze a small fifth person on a mattress and we have also managed to host infants safely though not all baby equipment is available.
- Pets welcome but not on the furniture. Bring your own dog bed.
- There is a suitable place to walk your dog in our paddock, 1 min from the barn. Please clean up after your pet.
- Additional cleaning fee of £5 per night per pet. Discounts available for longer stays.
- Check out time 11am.
- Check in time 3-8pm. Late check in by prior arrangement.
- Logs for wood burner provided on arrival. £5 per refill thereafter. Help with use of wood burner available if needed.
- Continental breakfast can be provided at £5 pppn.
- Smoking in the house is not permitted. Smoking in the courtyard only please.
Fiona & I love meeting new people. Come and share our beautiful Herefordshire countryside. Leintwardine (pronounced: lent-war-dine) is in an area of outstanding scenic interest and we love our village, with its 3 very different pubs in easy walking distance. The Sun Inn website tells you all about this unique hostelry. There is also a local chippy serving freshly cooked meals which can be delivered to The Sun Inn. The Lion has a lovely riverside setting. The Jolly Frog serves great seafood.
We run a small-holding with pigs & chickens and have dogs and a cat too. Eggs and other garden produce will be available in season.
Come and enjoy the Leintwardine experience, it has kept us here for the last 20 years. There is often live music or entertainment in the village including the annual Arcadia Music Festival.
