Garden Cottage at Fine House Farm is a gorgeous bolthole for two, and their well behaved dogs. It is quiet, peaceful and secluded, sharing our large garden. Easily accessible and close to beautiful countryside, the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Northumberland National Park and Hadrians' Wall. Only 15 minutes from Corbridge and less than 25 minutes from Hexham, Newcastle and Durham. Great for walkers, for exploring Northumbria, or for simply relaxing and doing very little.
This lovely barn conversion is spacious, bright and cozy. The living room has a large table, doors that open straight into the garden with a sheltered seating area and lovely views. There is a TV, a bookcase full of books, materials for drawing and painting and OS maps of the surrounding areas if you fancy a walk. The large bedroom has a super comfy king size bed, hot water bottles, views over the garden and farmland, and amazing star lit skies. The well equipped kitchen has a gas hob, electric oven, microwave, electric kettle and toaster. The bathroom is a TINY but warm shower room.
Guests have full access to the garden and orchard, shared with the owners. We have 5 well behaved dogs, and they will only be allowed in the garden if you are happy.
For your dogs we also have a lovely enclosed field for early morning runs, and loads of lovely dog friendly walks right from the door.
Interaction with guests
We live right next door, there will nearly always be someone around to help you with any queries or problems. However, we are also very conscious about the importance of privacy, so whilst on hand to offer recommendations regarding where to eat, walk or visit, we will never impose ourselves on you. Guests simply have to ask.
Other things to note
The bathroom is a wet room under the stairs. It is small, but warm and light with masses of hot water.
We welcome your dogs, and charge £5 per night per dog. Please talk to us before booking....there is not much room for big dogs!
If you are booking to attend a wedding in the area please note that check-in is between 3pm and 10pm. We cannot guarantee that you will have access before 3pm, and you probably won't find us at 1am. Sorry, but this is based on bitter experience.
- Well behaved dogs are welcome, £5 a night for each dog. Please discuss with me before booking
- The bathroom is downstairs, in fact, under the stairs. It is small, but warm and lovely.
- Garden Cottage shares the garden with us, and our 5 dogs. All we ask is that all gates are kept closed at all times, Samantha the rescue pointer will make a dash for freedom at the first opportunity.
