Montemarcello, one of the 100 most beautiful villages of Italy, is located on an isolated promontory overlooking the sea, the La Spezia Gulf, the valley and the mouth of the Magra, on the Tuscan Riviera to Versilia with the background of the Apuane.
The village is located in the park Magra-Montemarcello with numerous hiking trails in the middle of the green and often peaking at the sea.
On days with clear sky, especially in winter, you can see the Elba Island, Corsica and the Ligurian Coast of the West.
The look covers virtually 360 degrees.
The village, due to the territorial conformation, enjoys an enviable climate all year round.
Sunsets and sunsets are from photo lovers on any side of the road.
The Apuan Alps show long white stretches like snow: the Carrara white marble quarries all over the world,
The beautiful beach of Punta Corvo, considered one of the 10 most beautiful beaches in Italy, can be reached on foot through a steep path in the greenery, or by boat from Bocca di Magra or Fiumaretta, within a 5-minute drive.
In Punta Corvo, protected by the cold winter winds, you are tanning throughout the year and the months of September / October and the spring ones are absolutely exceptional.
Other fine sandy beaches, Fiumaretta, Marinella di Sarzana, Venere Azzurra are reachable in about 15 minutes by car.
For rock-lovers from Montemarcello, a path leads to Punta Bianca in 15/20 minutes on foot.
Portovenere is opposite Montemarcello across the gulf of La Spezia and is accessible as well as the Cinque Terre, with boats that make daily service from various places on the coast or by car in about 40 minutes.
The art cities: Pisa, Lucca, Florence, Siena ..., can be reached in just over an hour.
Forte dei Marmi and VersiIia, a land of fun, are about half an hour drive away.
Lerici, Sarzana and Marina di Carrara can be reached in about 15 minutes by car.

Other things to note

Nearby are famous events such as "La soffitta in Strada" in Sarzana in August and the Festival of Mind, always in Sarzana the first week of September.
At Marina di Carrara from August 23rd to September 7th there is the famous beer festival on the national level and not only.
Finally, of course, in Viareggio there is the famous Carnival in the period February / March.

A basic appartement in an old house inside the historic little village Montemarcello on the top of the hill. A good starting point for exploring surroundings. The best experience was the Punta Corva beach - 700 steps down and up !, but definitelly worth it. Several bars and restaurants in the village , only a little food shop . There is no Wi-Fi in the appartment and the Wi-Fi spot in the village didn´t work. Nevertheless we spent bautifull 2 days in this part of Italy we´d never been before. Thanks, Rosaria, for a little converstionin Italian §

A good place in a typical traditional house in the center of Montemarcello! perfect location and well equipped....

Rosaria's apartment can be found up a narrow, cobbled street just inside the old walls of Montemarcello. It is clean, quaint and kitted out perfectly for a weekend away for two. Rosaria was a lovely host and gave us helpful advice on which beaches to visit and how to get to them (If you plan on going to Punta Corvo make sure you take water and a pair of good trainers, the walk down and especially up is not for the fainthearted but well worth it). Thank you Rosaria, if we come back to Montemarcello we will definitely be calling again!

Rosalia was very uncomplicated. She waited for us 'cause we had some problems to find this small town. She always answered very fast and helped us if needed. The apartment has everything you need. Montemarchello is a beautiful and magical little town. Its so beautiful and romantic. We fell in love with these streets....The beaches around are very clean. Definitely recommend that! Caline
