Great location94% of recent guests gave this home’s location a 5-star rating.

Enjoy a secluded stay at Gaia Rising Farm on Guemes Island just a 5 min. ferry ride from Anacortes. Watch the farm animals graze outside the widow of this charming studio apt. that is attached to my unique solar powered home. Walk the woods and beaches. Swim in the pond. I am expecting lambs in April! If you come soon you may get to see the newborns.

I would recommend this spot in a heartbeat! It was less than 5 minutes from the ferry and it feels like a world away in the best of ways. Quiet, close to nature and beautifully appointed.

This place was exactly what we were looking for- remote, enviro conscious, farmy! We were super comfortable using the little studio as a home base for our outdoor adventures. We thought the composting toilet was exciting and making toast on the camp toaster over the stove was f…

This is a place to go for the amenities of place and pace and peace. It is not luxurious, but has what one needs for an enjoyable stay in the islands. We saw eagles, deer, countless other birds and if course the livestock - such fun! A prefect spot to bike to from the ferry and u…

We loved staying at Sequoia's place, and would go back again for a quiet, relaxing weekend. The new lambs and their older sheep friends did not disappoint!

The location is lovely, and "peaceful" really is the right word to describe this little cottage, which was charming. I didn't mind the composting toilet / pee bucket arrangement, but I was disconcerted to find there were only curtains on half the windows, leaving me feeling expos…

Response from Sequoia:
Lot's of us who live in the country don't have curtains on the windows. the apartment windows that face my house and yard have curtains for privacy. the other windows look out on the field and orchard. And of course the bathroom is private. As regards the lock- if a guest wanted to walk into my house, everything I own is here. This relationship is built on mutual trust. If I put a lock on the door I would have a key anyway which defeats the purpose if you don't trust me. I respect my guests privacy 100% and have zero interest in coming into their space while they are here.

Quiet, starry and cozy room close to ferry and general store. Sequoia has a beautiful mature garden and sheep/lambs, chickens and ducks! Be prepared to enjoy the "rustic" nature of the cabin life - energy saving - simple. Pick up your groceries before coming on island - sometimes…
