This bright and spacious apartment is located in a Georgian house built in the 1790s and features high ceilings, huge windows and views of leafy Mountjoy Square. It's a five minute walk to historic O'Connell Street and the lively bustle of the city centre, with excellent public transport connections for the airport and for exploring more of Ireland. Come stay in the heart of Dublin and experience the everyday life of the city on your doorstep.

The space

The apartment is located on the first floor of an old Georgian home, overlooking the greenery of Mountjoy Square Park. It most likely served as a drawing room when the house was first built and many of the original period features are still intact. The windows are floor-to-ceiling and south-facing, meaning the apartment is full of natural light throughout the day, even in winter. The open living space is perfect for lounging, reading and relaxing.

There is a fully-equipped kitchen with a microwave, fridge, oven, kettle, toaster and complimentary tea and coffee. The bed is king-sized, the bathroom has an electric power shower and there is high-speed WiFi throughout the premises.

Guest access

You will have access to the entire apartment.

Interaction with guests

I am available by phone and via AirBNB to help guests with any issues or problems they may encounter.

Other things to note

Please note that there is no working elevator in the building, so the apartment may not be suitable for guests with mobility issues.

Marianne's apartment was the perfect size for a quick visit to Dublin for my wife and I. Very clean and pretty well located near the major hotspots. It was a little tricky navigating the bus routes to find the right stop closet to the apartment, but that was more a quirk of Dublin than any fault of Marianne's. We mostly used taxis, which made it all much easier. Slept very well in the bed, and as a very light sleeper, that was a big plus for me. Wish we had more time there. Would recommend to a friend.

The apartment was just as described, plenty of hot water in the shower although the bathroom sink was tiny. The kitchen had everything necessary for preparing breakfast and a light dinner. The radiant heat in the floors made the apartment warm and felt nice when barefoot. We appreciated the quiet and safe neighborhood, great for sleeping yet close to all main attractions. Easy walking distance for us but also convenient bus #7 right across the street would take you to Trinity College and back if you didn't feel like walking. Also easy connection to airport via bus #16 and short walk to Connolly Station and LUAS tram.

I really enjoyed my stay at Marianne's place. It was really close to Croke Park where I attended an event. The apartment was very clean and had a great view of the park. The apartment was very spacious comparing to a hotel nearby where my friends were staying. Marianne was very helpful with my questions and was very accommodating.

This place is beautiful! It looked exactly as advertised with a full kitchen and washing machine. The check in was easy and Marianne is so friendly -- she even gave us tips on what to do on our next stop in Galway. The area is a bit far from town. The walk in the daytime is lovely, but plan for cabs at night. We loved that it was a bit away from town and gave us a gorgeous view of mountjoy park! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

It's a very nice place as described. We had a pleasant stay. The only problem is the outside edge of the bed is a bit worn out, my bf got a bit back problem.

Best for short stays. The main room is really lovely! High ceilings, elegant features, and tons of natural light. The bedroom is only big enough for the bed, but it's a very comfortable bed and there are empty drawers in the dresser that you can use. The bathroom is a work in progress. Very clean and a nice shower, but zero sound privacy and a quirky toilet. Never met Marianne, but she left clear instructions and everything went smoothly. Unfortunately, we witnessed a lot of public urination. In front of the apartment, in the street, and in the park. I was traveling with my mother, and this environment made her uncomfortable.

I'm a freelancer with a degree in theatre and English literature from Trinity College Dublin. I've just moved back to the city after four years of travelling and living abroad. My favourite Dublin activities include walks by the sea, chats in the pub, concerts, plays, poetry readings and people watching. I'm delighted to be reconnecting with my favourite city in the world.
