Lovely cottage. Had everything we needed. Very clean and comfortable in a great spot. Great water pressure! Would highly recommend to anyone looking for some peace and quiet in a beautiful location.

The views are totally breathtaking and the cottage is a proper rural retreat! We had some real Cumbrian weather (lots of rain) but everyday the sun came out in the afternoon casting an unbelievably beautiful light on the hills. We had a two year old with us and she loved exploring the house and rolling in the enclosed front garden - not to mention all the sheep visitors we had peering in through the window! Perfect for an escape from the modern world. Rob's communication was also excellent and he was incredibly responsive and easy to deal with.

This was a perfect bolthole for the weekend. We were looking for a scenic, quiet escape from the city and Rob's place was perfect. The cottage itself was fairly basic in terms of furniture etc., but it had a very nice, comfortable rustic touch, especially upstairs where it seemed a bit like time had stood still (which we really enjoyed). The cottage was well kitted out with the open fire and logs to use and maps of the local area to plan walks. Rob also suggested that we visit Ashgill Waterfall, which was a fantastic spot not too far from the cottage and really rounded off a relaxing break.

Quirky, characterful old-fashioned cottage. i.e. roof beams, squeaky floors, huge beds. CH and hot water work v well. Great location for walks. Don't drive into the centre of Garrigill to get to the property - vehicular access is off the B6277. You park slightly up the hill and walk down to the property. No wifi, TV or microwave - but we didn't miss them at all.

The situation of this cottage is secluded and peaceful, with beautiful views across the hills. We travelled with our three children age 6-10 and they had a brilliant time playing in the fields and walking. The walk to the near by waterfall was great and we enjoyed a pint at St Johns house in the village while the kids had fun in the enormous playground. The cottage has everything you need and is warm, comftable and cosy. If you are wanting to enjoy the Peace and quiet of the countryside then this is the perfect spot. The pasties from The Moody Baker and the cheeses from the Wholefood shop in Alston were also delicious. Rob was really helpful and left very clear instructions of how to get in and the workings of the place. I wish we could have stayed longer!

The description does not oversell it - the view is amazing! The cottage is cozy and well equipped, and well laid out too. We came right in time for seeing all the new lambs frisking about, and it was amazing to be halfway down a hill, and have them literally above and below us! The home is warm and inviting, with a great selection of jazz CDs (nice touch!) and is stocked with nice amenities. We had our seven month old with us, (which can be tricky) but everything was set up beautifully, and we had a truly lovely time. Thanks, Rob!
