The unit had great views of Lake Lugano, which was across the street from the unit. The bed was comfortable and there was only a 5' couch in the living room that was fine for 2 people. The kitchen was well equipped with cooking utensils, full size refrigerator, dining table, dishwasher (we hand washed since we didn't have many dirty dishes), and some accompaniments like salt and pepper. The public areas were very clean and well maintained, and a nice wood walkway ran along the waterfront for casual strolls. The crowds were not so bad in late August, lending to a peaceful quiet that was enjoyable. There were a half dozen restaurants within a 5 minute walk of the unit, as well as several shops and two small convenience/grocery stores. A modern multi-level garage for auto parking was about 8 minutes from the unit. A very small grocery store was a 5 minute walk away and had fresh eggs, bread, cheeses, wine, bottled water and other items. I could cook scrambled eggs/cheese with toast for breakfast if i wanted to deviate from the local restaurants' limited breakfasts of pastry, fruit, and ham/cheese plate. A few of our concerns included the wifi only connected to my phone and iPad, but my wife's phone and iPad could never get a connection, nor could my work computer. I tried to log in with the password at least 20-30 times total, without success. Aside from limiting our entertainment, it made if difficult for me to keep up with work without my computer while away. If wifi is important to you, this might be problematic, as it was for us. The owner said it was just due to an older home, but we have had wifi in thousand year old residences in several "walled cities" of Italy. I will say that at least the owner attempted to help us get connected. The lack of air conditioning typically would not be a problem, but I understand this was one of the hottest summers in many years and its absence made it borderline uncomfortable to sleep at night. The owner did bring a fan that helped some, but a/c would have made the stay much more comfortable. I believe global warming will increase the need for a/c in the future. In conclusion, the location and view were excellent, but the wifi and a/c issues would have made us select other accommodations if we had been aware of those shortcomings.

We would have no concerns recommending this property to anyone who is staying in Morcote. The ambiance of the apartment is unique and location is ideal. We would suggest that you take up the hosts offer of the parking pass as Morcote is limited for parking. As well, please do keep in mind that this location has 50+ stairs to access it so pack light!

On our arrival especially, we found Sadi's neighbour ( the guy that should welcome us) a little bit lackadaisical. If we had questions, he answered rapidly to his phone but he was never really enthusiastic. At least, his mom was also there and was really nice with us. If you are planning to cook, think to make your grocery before getting to Morcote because there are only small shops and it's quite expensive. We had a problem getting the wifi, don't count on it. :( The appartment is well located but be careful. On (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) maps, it says that the appartment is located close to Arbostora bus stop and not Piazza Grande bus stop. We got down at Arbistora and had to walk 15 minutes with our suitcases because of that. Apart these things, we had a great time in Morcote and it's just a fabulous place to visit and to stay!!

We stayed at Sadi's apartment with our 4.5 year old daughter and a small puppy. Apartment is lovely and you feel right at home as soon as you enter from main door...warm welcoming colors, cool flooring, excellent views. Apartment is well located in center of Morcote and one can use bus or boat or car to easily access Lugano and make over to Italian side. We will definitely stay there again for our next visit...
