Gabriel is a 6 metre spacious Bell Tent and is privately set in a copse of mainly oak trees on a working sheep/arable farm in mid Devon. It is ideal for couples on a romantic retreat or for a family of up to six who seek privacy and seclusion.

The space
You will have the site all to yourselves. So if you are after total privacy and getting back to nature, this is an ideal retreat for you and your partner or family.

Guest access
You will have access to our beautiful 300 acre farm which includes wild flower strips along our fields and woodland. We have a tennis court which you are very welcome to use, we have rackets and balls too. We have table football, table tennis and a badmington set but we tend to find that when the children discover the hay bales, they spend most of their time there....and you can sit on a bale, have a cuppa and watch them play!

Other things to note
We offer a complimentary Devon cream tea and a pot of marshmallows which will be waiting for you in your fully equipped kitchen. We also provide cling film, kitchen foil, kitchen roll, matches, ketchup, brown sauce, mayo, mustard, olive oil, teas, instant and filter coffee, hot chocolate, marmite, honey and salt and pepper. We also leave you with plenty of logs for the wood burner and fire pit. We provide a cool box on site and you have sole access to a fridge freezer in a nearby barn (2 mins walk from tent), which has ice packs for the cool box.

We are a working farm on 300 acres of beautiful Devon countryside. We have 50 sheep and their lambs. We have crops of barley, wheat and oats and during July, August and September we may be combining the crops. That aside, we offer a peaceful retreat and taste of the countryside. We have plenty of wildlife on the farm from badgers, deer, foxes, barn owls, tawny owls, hare, stoat, weasels, buzzards, ravens and rabbits.

We have diversified to offer two private glamping sites on our family-run sheep and arable farm. We live down a mile long, one track lane, in the heart of the mid -Devon countryside. There are three houses down our lane and Hugh, myself and our two children, Rosie (13) and Edward (10) live in one, Hugh’s elderly parents live in one and Hugh’s aunt lives in the pink, thatched cottage. We live in the valley and at the top of the hill we have beautiful views of Dartmoor, Exeter and on the other side, Exmoor on a clear day. We love living here and although my husband, ‘Farmer Hugh’ was a little reluctant to open our farm to ‘outsiders’ - I won him around and now he’s just as pleased as I am to meet all the lovely people who come to stay here. We’ve met so many lovely people and we feel privileged to offer access to a beautiful part of England. I think that you’ll find that once you’ve been to East Coombe Farm, you’ll want to come back year after year...and we’d love to see you :)

During your stay
We would like you to feel as if you are our very welcome guests and we hope that you will feel as if it is your home for the duration of your stay. We are around most of the time and available via mobile if you have any questions - and we generally find that once you’re here, (you’ve probably come for some privacy) that we won’t see you after you’ve checked in. If you’re coming with children, we may see you a bit more, as once your children discover the hay bale tunnels, I imagine that they will want to set up camp there, with our two children, Rosie (13) and Edward (10)!
