We stayed in Nenthall for the night as a stopover whilst cycling the C2C route. Ivy had supplied excellent instructions how to find the place, which was great as it was after the big climb up to Hartside and down into Alston - then a few miles further. The place was spotlessly clean, and offered a welcome break after 70+ miles in the saddle. We stored our bikes in their shed and relaxed in their cosy apartment. It was great to be able to use the kitchen to prepare our breakfast, whilst admiring the amazing view from the lounge window. Thanks again Ivy for your hospitality!

The apartments are in a beautiful rural setting, despite this they are only minutes away from Alston where there are lovely little shops and nice pubs . A great place to stay overall.

Barry and Ivy welcomed us as their own children in their secluded place in the hills. The apartment is small, but large enough for a few days and/or if you spend most of your time outside. Everything you need is there and wifi is remarkedly fast for such a remote place. The views from the apartment are awesome if a bit obstructed by bushes. We could hear the small children of others guests louder than we liked. Our bikes got a safe parking in the garage. Well recommended if you do the C2C (which goes right past it) or otherwise explore the North Pennines.

We enjoyed our two night stay in the Woodpecker which is well equipped and comfortable, and provides fantastic views. Great communication from hosts throughout. It's a great place to stay to explore nearby Alston, Ashgill Force, and the South Tynedale Railway.

Ivy gave us detailed and accurate directions and gave us a thorough introduction to the facilities upon our arrival. The apartment is well equipped and provide everything needed. The views of the moors are great. Ivy is an excellent host. We enjoyed our stay a lot, especially the very comfortable bed. A great place to stay.
