Indian inspired yurt with annexe set between the yachting town of Cowes and Newport, the capital. Buses every 10 minutes from stops that are 3 minutes away. Half a mile to the beautiful Parkhurst forest, a haven for walkers. The County Showground that hosts various events and the Military Museum are close by as is the cycle track which runs parallel to the river. There is bike hire near the Red Jet. Stunning views and sunrises viewed from the yurt garden. Ideal for couples and solo adventurers.

The space

Cosy yet spacious insulated yurt with surround sound for mp3/ smartphone/tablet. There are tea/coffee making facilities, toaster and fridge. You are welcome to use our microwave in the lobby of the main house. The annexe opposite the yurt is a great place to sit and have breakfast or just to chill out. We have various visitors to the garden such as butterflies, blackbirds, wrens and if its a warm day you may spy a pair of buzzards circling above. A breakfast basket is served to your door each morning and homemade cake will welcome you on arrival.

Guest access

The yurt and annexe are solely for our guests. Our ducks (and dog!) are free range but are very friendly and share the garden with you. The toilet is situated through the garden in the lobby and has a basin with hot/cold running water. You are very welcome to use the shower room in the main house (just ask). Parking is off road in our driveway.

Interaction with guests

I'm usually around if you need anything or want to know about the surrounding area or the island in general

Other things to note

Although there is electric in the yurt water needs to be collected from the outside tap at the top of the garden. 2 large, filled containers will be left for your arrival and you may not need to refill them depending on length of stay. The garden is lit by fairy lights and sensor lights but please use a torch at night if going up to the lobby as the ground is a little uneven.

This was a great, cosy space to spend the weekend in and get away from it all! The yurt was very warm as there was heating as well as an electric blanket so dont worry about that! Breakfast was delicious and set us off nicely each day (croissant, cereal, toast, smoothies). Sue was very friendly, we were left to our own devices but she responded any time we had a question.

Lovely place with outstanding hospitality. The yurt was very clean and warm and Sue's cupcakes were just amazing as was the breakfast which included exceptional homemade marmalades.

The yurt was great, pictures dont quite do it justice! Lovely little electric fire, heated blankets, great lighting and quite. Sue bought us a little basket of treats for breakfast in the morning which was a lovely treat and even let us shower in her house. Would definitely stay again and recommend it to anyone looking for a quirky "glamping" experience (although this is far far above and beyond camping!)

An adorable yurt with everything you need, such a lovely idea and Sue took care of all the small thoughtful bits to make sure our stay was perfect. I could not fault it and would strongly recommend to anyone wishing to visit the island.
