The large apartment (about 1200 sq. ft.) has 3 private entrances on the ground level, a full bath, a fully stocked mini kitchen, 4 large rooms plus 2 bedrooms and lots of huge windows throughout, and private parking. It is close to I-81 , Radford University, Virginia Tech (20min), Bisset Park on the New River, Christiansburg Aquatic Center (20 min), Claytor Lake State Park, and a hospital. A great place for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families with a dog and lots of kids!

The space

You will have your own living space on the first level of a three-level house, all of it is above ground. There are cupboards in the fully stocked mini-kitchen with plenty of dishes, glasses, and lots of silverware. The apartment has a fireplace (fire wood included), a wide screen TV with internet service, a DVD player, fast WiFi, exercise equipment, an outdoor grill, and a fire pit. The house is in a thickly wooded area which will give you the feeling of being in the country, but yet we are in the City of Radford.

Guest access

With 6 fully furnished rooms, you will have plenty of space to spread out. You will have access to 2 outdoor patios, a fenced area, a bricked area, and your own driveway with parking enough for 2 cars. Our place is in a quiet neighborhood in a closed community of rolling hills with lots of trees, shrubs, and deer. It is a wonderful area for leisurely walks and/or biking.

Interaction with guests

We respect your privacy so that you will feel right at home. We will be living in the upper two levels. We welcome interaction with our guests if they so chose.

Other things to note

We have a very friendly dog (part border collie and part Labrador). Her name is Sophie, she is 2 years old, and rarely barks. Trash day is early Tuesday morning. You can leave your trash in the garbage cans in the garage anytime.

This was the first time I have ever used an Airbnb property. I was not sure what to expect or what my expectations should be. I was more than pleasantly surprised. Ken and Kay were quite hospitable. Their place was much bigger than I needed. Very clean and perfect for my stay. If there was any downside to this, it was that the neighborhood is difficult to navigate. However, Ken even offered to pick me up if needed. Be sure to proceed slowly and use a GPS device. You will need it.

The home is in a lovely Radford neighborhood minutes from the Radford campus and about 20 minutes from the Va Tech campus. The space is private and clean. A kitchenette allows you to do light cooking. A coffee pot is there for your morning cup of joe. The hosts are lovely people who greet you upon your arrival. You are on your own after that, but they are available if you need them. I highly recommend this listing for the convenience and value.

Ken provided good directions to his home and met us promptly despite our late 10:00pm arrival. The space was larger than I expected. Plenty of room for us to converge in the sitting room or spread out among the living room and bedrooms. Location is really nice for anyone visiting Radford or going to a game at Virginia Tech like we were. I don't believe anyone was coming in after us so Ken let us know that we could basically stay as long as we wanted prior to checkout. All in all a nice two day stay. Thanks Ken for your hospitality.

We enjoyed what little time we had in Radford very much. Ken and Kay we so welcoming and provided a clean and cozy place to stay for the weekend. This was our first time using Airbnb, we plan on booking again on our next trip. Next time we make it up to the Radford area, we will definitely book with Ken and Kay- they have a wonderful place. Highly recommend for anyone planning on going for a weekend football game at Virginia Tech, you are only about 15 minutes from campus, so it is very convenient.

We bought a house but it was not ready while our lease was due, so we needed a place to live for our family for one month. We love cooking Chinese food at home, so Ken set up a kitchen in deck. We were very happy we could cook meals like at home. Even my work place is not very far from Ken's house, but both my husband and me needed GPS. We only have one GPS, so I borrowed Ken's GPS for one week. Both Ken and Kay are friendly and nice like friends. Ken's place is very spacious and well furnished just like a home. I like the excise bike, my son like playing domino. Ken's place is near to I-81, and grocery stores too. It is very nice place to live for a family.

Ken's place was awesome. Pictures online do not do it justice. It's beautiful, comfortable, inviting and more. There's plenty of room to spread out and have your own space if you're traveling with others. Ken and his wife were great hosts. Communication was quick and easy. We knew they were just a phone call away if we needed them or anything. And they had everything we needed. Beds were comfortable and linens were beautiful and high-quality. We look forward to staying here again.

Very nice space and close to whatever we needed. Ken kept in contact and was quick to respond if anything arose. We were greated by his son, John, and he was friendly and helpful as well. The master bed was quite firm, but there are several couches that are very comfy and two twin beds that look cushy. We also appreciated the fan to use during hot summer nights (90+). Great hospitality.
