The location was great—a short walk (or run) to the beach and also close to great shops and cafes. The space is a small room that you share with Karen and her family. They are simultaneously welcoming and respectful of your space—there if you need something but otherwise leave you to your own devices. Would definitely stay there again.
It was a nice one night stay, we were two (slept in the bed and couch as bed is small for two). We never saw Karen but she was helful with indications. Perfect location, the appartment is clean. There is noise after 7am, which was OK for me but might be inconvenient for some travelers. I recommend.
Not a bad place to stay if you don't mind driving around or walking 30 minutes to Santa Monica attractions. The room itself was very hot and without a fan it was hard to sleep at night. I booked a room for 2 people but the bedroom has only one single bed matress on a frame that is too small for it. My fiance slept on that bed and I slept on the couch that was is in the room. The couch itself didn't come with sheets to sleep with (which didn't end up being an issue in the end anyways since it was so hot). The bathroom could use a bit of work as well (which I think was actually taking place while we were there). I understand that the area is expensive for places to stay but I think a few easy additions to this place would make it much better (fan, 2 person bed, mirror, light fixture, mirror, etc). The host was great, don't get me wrong. She supplied us with towels and was very helpful during the check in process. The neighborhood was nice and fairly close to Venice and Santa Monica.
