After being a host in Oslo since 2011, I have renovated this cabin far up north where I was born, and my family still live. With loads of Scandinavian design objects, it also comes equipt with everything you might need or didn't know you needed to make your stay epic! 2 bikes, 2 fishing rods and fancy coffee gear is also free for you to use. The location is in the middle of the local village, and the view and space are spectacular. Enjoy the midnight sun and northern lights in this modern cabin.

This space you are about to book is a piece of my heritage. It has a mix of all the beautiful Scandinavian design gems I love and many eclectic elements that I have inherited from my ancestors. The cabin was build in 1994, and then it was part stable for my horse. Yes, that is right! In 2014 I started the renovation process and July 2016 I welcomed my first Airbnb guest. The journey you can see on my Instagram. It is a space I will never sell so it is designed to last a lifetime and I am spending time here myself a few weeks during the year when I go to see my family and looking after my house. And I hope it comes across with a feeling of a home, not just a rental.

I have worked many years in the furniture and design business in Norway. And I love promoting Norwegian and Scandinavia design, so this place is a way for me to allow my guest to live with and use all the great design objects that have come out of Scandinavia. On the cabin website, you will soon be able to get a full view of all the objects in the house and the designers behind it.

With big windows, you can enjoy the great and very often extreme weather we experience here in the north. A modern fireplace will keep you warm as well as electrical heating.

We try to be as eco friendly as possible. And I have made recycling easy by providing the necessary bins and instructions during your stay. It would be great if you use the supplied tote bags do your shopping to avoid plastic bags. And we use as much as we can of eco-friendly cleaning products. The washing machine liquids are also allergy friendly if that is a concern for you.

My cabin has all the modern fittings you will need to enjoy your stay.

The location of the cabin is in the village "center" of Sjøvegan.
It is a small town where the cottage is located in a residential area above the main road (we only have one). But the view of the landscape is fantastic, and you can see the northern light and midnight sun from here. Staying here is an opportunity to live like a local Norwegian in the rural district.

In the town of Sjøvegan, we have more facilities than most villages nearby. And you are within walking distance from:
- Two big food shops REMA 1000 and Coop.
- We have VINMONOPOLET shop where you can buy wine and spirit. Only open Wednesday to Saturday.
- A cozy cafe KÅRE PÅ KAIA that is open Tuesday-Saturday. They serve great coffee, lunch food, cakes and beer/wine. And on Friday they have cocktail hours and open until midnight.
- A takeaway spot that serves burgers and pizzas seven days a week.
- Petrol station
- A kiosk NARVESEN that is open seven days a week.
- A good sporting goods store if you need any hiking equipment etc.
- Pharmacy and Optician, clothing shop, florist ++

FISHING - The local river Salangselva, is known to be one of Norway's best char watercourses. You can fish for sea trout, char or farmed salmon. The fly fishing season is from July to September. And of course, there are plenty mountains nearby to hike. If you want to fly fishing or hiking, I can provide you with more information.
