No.1 Tiffyhall has been given a 4 star grading by Visit Scotland and is close to great views and the beach. You’ll love my place because of the comfy bed, the cosiness, the kitchen, and the neighbourhood. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, and families (with kids).

The space

No.1 Tiffyhall was previously the main residence of a small croft , which is one of the oldest in the parish and was part of a working farm once owned by the Earl of Zetland. It fell into disrepair and stood empty for 50 years until it was fully renovated and extended in 2008 and has been transformed into a comfortable holiday cottage.

Cottage comprises of :

Fully equipped Kitchen diner leading onto inner hall-way allowing access to the lounge with ample seating, picture window overlooking private garden area as well as french doors opening onto patio area. There are two bedrooms, 1 x twin and 1 x double both accessed through the hall-way. Also leading off the hall is large family bathroom containing seperate shower cubicle and bath. The cottage benefits from full central heating.

All Towels and Linen are included in the price, Flat Screen TV/DVD, Fridge/Freezer, Gas Cooker, Microwave, Washing Machine, Hair Dryer, Iron and Ironing Board, Airer, Cot bed and High Chair available on request, Sorry no pets. Smoking is not permitted in the cottage, however there is a smoking area provided for visitors in the garden area.

Guest access

Guests have access to the whole cottage and its small garden and patio are. Entry is from 3 pm and vacated by 10 am.

Guests can also walk around the 8 acres that form part of the Croft/Smallholding where they can enjoy watching the local wildlife on the 2 flight ponds that were created in October 2015 and the small plantation of trees planted early 2016

This is a lovely, well-appointed cottage, every need anticipated and supplied. We loved the tranquillity of the location, and it really didn't seem far to travel all over the Mainland. We really appreciated the wonderful welcome package, with tasty homemade scones, clotted cream and raspberry jam. We hope to return next year and wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else. Thank you both!

Karen's cottage is a wonderful base for visiting archaeological sites and cliff top walks which are not to be missed. It was a cosy retreat after a long day. The cottage was beautifully modernised. It was spacious (two comfortable couches in the lounge) and the bathroom had both a bath and a walk-in shower. Karen was a very generous host providing a hamper of local produce to start off our stay. We would highly recommend Karen's cottage to family and friends.
