About this listing
Located along the Wild Atlantic Way and only a 15 min walk from Bantry town, this is the perfect spot for a family holiday exploring all that beautiful West Cork & neighbouring County Kerry has to offer. Spacious and with stunning views overlooking Bantry Bay it has cafes, restaurants, bars & beaches on it's door step.
The chalet is spacious & bright and decorated with contemporary/vintage furniture & artwork to give it a relaxed and laid back atmosphere. It has 2 double bedrooms, an open plan kitchen/dining/living space all with large west facing windows, and 2 bathrooms; 1 of which is ensuite.
It has a fully equipped kitchen with everything you'll need (if not just ask!) for cooking and washing. There's a radio/CD player, TV for playing DVDs only, DVD player & DVDs, guide books, and games for hopefully not too main rainy days. There's also a private parking space and a large garden overlooking the bay.
A travel cot, high chair & fold-out bed are all available on request.
You will have the entire chalet totally to yourself for the duration of your stay, and full access to the garden.
Interaction with guests
While unfortunately we won't always be there ourselves to meet with you on arrival, we will have a family member on hand to show you around & answer any questions you might have, and we'll be available by email and/or mobile if you need any information or assistance at all during your stay. We'll also leave clear instructions as to how to use appliances and/or equipment, where things you may need to use are stored and telephone numbers for taxis, restaurants etc.
The chalet is located in a very quiet cul-de-sac, just outside Bantry town and off the main Glengarriff Road. It's within walking distance of the town and it's amenities including shops, cafes, restaurants, bars, cinema, swimming pool and 'Bantry House & Gardens'; home to both the West Cork Chamber Music & Literary Festivals.
It's also within a short walking distance of 'Manning's Emporium' and 'Donemark West' eateries both perfect for some good food, tapas & wine.
By car the picturesque West Cork towns of Glengarriff, Ballydehob, Skibbereen, Schull, Goleen, Clonakilty, Baltimore, Allihies, Eyeries, and islands including Cape Clear, Sherkin, Heir, Garnish & Dursey etc. are all close by for fantastic day trips.
And for spectacular scenic drives there are both The Ring of Cork & The Ring of Kerry tourist trails (with a possible stop off at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Skellig Micheal the location for filming some of Star Wars: The Force Awakens).
There is a regular bus service between Bantry town and Cork city centre (with connections to the airport & train stations), and numerous taxi services running between the chalet and the town. But we would recommend hiring a car and/or bicycles so you can explore the surrounding towns & countryside at your leisure.
This is our home too so please handle with care, and leave as clean & as tidy as you'll find it.
Cancel up to 7 days before your trip and get a 50% refund plus service fees back.
