Dome with incredible views towards the Cajon del Maipo sector Being located on top of a hill, it can be a place of departure and arrival for crossings and explorations of the surrounding hills, having access to good trekking routes near the sector. The environment gives you a total disconnect with the urban world (it does not have electric light) and allows you to reconnect with the essential nature (tranquility, clean air, calm). My accommodation is good for couples and adventurers

What a great experience! From start to finish Javier was an excellent host. The communication from the beginning wa spot on and everything was explained very clearly. The space itself is incredible - every morning we woke up to the Mountain View through the ceiling windows and every night we went to sleep under the stars on the little couch that we moved out onto the porch. The hike nearby was a great experience as well and we enjoyed most of one of our days just with that. As has been suggested before, I would bring as much food as you will need up the mountain with you when you go. We brought 2 bags of ice with us for the ice chest and that lasted us about 3-4 days. Getting up to the dome is a bit of an adventure in and of itself, I have driven tiny rental cars all over the world and still managed to put noticeable wear (to the rental car company) on 2 tires going up and down! Javier was great and even towed us part of the way up the first time. I would recommend a 4x4 for ease of going and coming up and down the mountain. It is possible with a small car, but you may end up like us replacing some tires :). Overall this was our favorite Airbnb be have stayed at so far and Javier was by far the most gracious and helpful host. Highly recommend this great place!

First of all, the view from the dome is incomparable. We spent two nights in the cabin and enjoyed sitting on the deck looking at the mountains, stars, canyon, and clouds. It is equipped with everything you need, and Javier is extremely quick to respond to any questions. The experience staying in the dome was the most unique Airbnb (by far) that we've stayed in and the entire experience was unforgettable. 100% recommended. Pro tip: if you plan to drive yourself to the dome from the Puente Alto town, you MUST have a 4x4 vehicle and experience driving on rough on mountainous terrain.

The main thing about this house is the marvellous view. It has everything you need, but no electricity. Which makes the nights more romantic. It is up in the mountains, so it can be really cold sometimes, we even had snow. But there are lots of blankets. That being told, it is a little to cold to stay there on foggy days in winter with a crawling, ever exploring baby. If you don't have a car, like us, Javier may bring you up the mountain. We needed about an hour and a half to get up there by foot. Javier is a very nice person, helped where he could and even rescenduled a whole day to bring us down one day early, as my girlfriend was ill.

The view is amazing! Javier was very easy to communicate with and described the house accurately. It's a good idea to buy the food you want for your trip from the super market beforehand since the hike down is about an hour and up is about an hour and a half (plus walking to the stores), but if someone is driving up or down they will give you a ride and offer suggestions on things to do in the mountain that aren't very known! If you need groceries though there's a fresh fruit and vegetable shop nearby the bottom of the mountain. We felt super safe the whole time (even when walking up in the dark) and welcomed by everyone on the mountain. Even though the dogs on the mountain bark a lot all of them are nice. If you encounter a big black one and a big brown one if you say their names (Mister is the black one and Bobby is the brown) then they calm down very quickly. Find out what you want to do outside of the mountain beforehand since wifi is hard to come by and some activities are only available on weekends. Getting to San Jose and San Alfonso are very easy by bus and the bus drivers will even stop if you put your hand out not at a bus stop. Definitely recommend. Be ready for the dark at night and to cut some firewood to keep warm! My favorite Airbnb I've stayed at so far!! Words can't describe it.

I went with my fianceé for a weekend at the Dome and we absolutely loved our stay! Javier is an excellent host and was already waiting for us at the supermarket (good strategy before going all the way up to the dome) when we arrived. The view and the dome itself are way better live! It's pure beuty and nature all around and the dome is very comfortable and spacious for two people. Everything was clean, organized and he even had matches! (You'll need them since there's no electricity). We're beginners (no previous experience with camping or mountains or no electricity whatsoever) and we had no trouble at all during our stay. The temperature inside the dome is very pleasant and the heaters are great! Javier explained how everything worked at the dome, gave us tips about things to do, see and trails we could follow. He was always smiling and caring with both of us! There's no way to think about Chile and not to think about this experience.

Javier's place is seriously the best Airbnb we've done. Ever. 1.The pictures are as accurate as pictures could possibly be, however, in person it's literally breath taking. The views you get of the mountains are incredible. My wife and I were looking for a secluded, near-the mountains but beautiful place and this is exactly it. 2.Javier couldn't be any nicer and accommodating. He communicated so well with us before our trip and during our trip (and he speaks/writes perfect English by the way. Huge plus for us gringos!). He picked us up where the bus stops near a grocery store and took us to the place. Told us great recommendations of what to do, where to hike, and how to keep away from the wasps (they are no joke. Don't eat outside. Not even peanuts. They will want everything Lol). We didn't get the best signal with our cell carrier from the U.S. so when we went hiking he was so kind as to stay on the lookout for us in case he needed to call the emergency services. So my wife let him know when we left and when we came back. Once he dropped us off at the bus stop he even checked on us to make sure we got to the metro station ok. Seriously, amazing guy and best host. You will feel so safe and in the know with him. 3.If you go hiking, listen to every word he says! We didn't pay enough attention I guess and ended up going up a really difficult way up the mountain behind his house so we didn't even make it to the top. This was our first real mountain hike (not many trails) so I think we did ok lol but if we had paid more attention it would have been less strenuous. Also, these are real mountains y'all. None of those soft paved roads like in Hawaii or any national park. So our tennis shoes got torn up lol recommend some real hiking boots for the mountains in this area. Trust me, the hike is worth it. Also, even if we hadn't left Javier's cabin our itch for mountain views would have been completely satisfied. You are already ON a mountain and surrounded by many more. Such an incredible place! Recommends* 1.If on foot: do go to the grocery store Santa Isabel and get everything you need food wise, toilette wise (some toiletries you'll have to get next door at the pharmacy) because going up and down from this town to his place is quite the trek. Do get bags of ice. He's got a cooler which works great to keep meats and cheeses cool. 2.If you rent a car: you need a 4X4. Not a suggestion lol the road up to his place is RUGGED. Way cool but any little car would suffer. 3.No electricity. It wasn't a problem for us because we came prepared with flashlights and stuff. He's got plenty of candles and propane...

Best place we stayed on our trip! We loved the scenic views and easy access to hikes and climbs. Very unique house with lots of hand made details. Great if you are used to camping but want a lot of luxury for the price. Javier was so helpful in getting up to the house (the drive up the mountain is very difficult in a two wheel drive car). He also gave us lots of information about things we could do near by. A very personable guy. Loved this place and the host.
