The space

Breathe the genuine atmosphere of Salento by coming and staying in a typical stone house immersed in the alleys in the historical centre of San Cesario, a village (8.000 inhabitants) adjacent to Lecce, the Baroque Capital....
130 square meters ancient house, ground floor, with a lovely garden (125 sm). In typical "salentino style", with high vaulted roofs, elegantly furnished with late '800/ early '900 pieces of furniture. One bedroom, bath room with bath/shower, secondary small bath room with toilet and basin. Double living room, tv. It is possible to add a single bed in the living room. No air conditioning, since the house is made out of 'leccese stone' and is naturally cool. Use of kitchen and washing machine.
In the heart of the historical center of San Cesario di Lecce, near the main square with its beautiful XVIII century Ducal Palace. Near shops and supermarket.

Only 4 km from Lecce, and 2,5 km from highway to both Adriatic and Ionian coast. Train station to Lecce is 10 minutes walking. Trains take 5 minutes to get to Lecce.

Meals on demand (especially dinner), served - if you wish - in the country (where I have a second house), in an atmospheric olive grove, where you can stay with my beautiful horse Stella and you/ your child can comb her blond mane!

The apartment is ok but less charming than the pictures. Serena is an adorable host who took the time to greet us and give us information in French. The location is good, a 15 minute drive from Lecce. The overall cleanliness of the apartment was ok although we had some inconvenience (dust, dishes). The main feature is the large garden but it is not as neat as the pictures (the big bed is not anymore in this condition). Our overall experience is OK but slightly below our expectations.

A clean and spacious home in a sweet quiet Italian town. The property is nice and cool because of the structure and design, the building is architecturally interesting. When we had difficulty finding the property Serena was available on the phone to provide assistance and said we could contact her if we needed anything. There are plenty of butchers, grocers and bakers as well as cafes and restaurants in the town.

We really enjoyed the stay at Serena's apartment, which was the perfect and comfortable point while exploring Puglia and visiting Lecce, Otranto, Galipoli, Ostuni. Serena hosted us with really warm and care. Thank you Serena!

Serena's apartment is very spacious and is located near a train to Lecce. The train only takes 5 minutes to get to Lecce. The hot water was wonderful and I enjoyed being able to take a long, hot shower.

The house is really charming and cozy and we spent 9 amazing days in San Cesario. Serena was very helpful and quick to respond to all our questions. The town is very calm and quiet, and we had dinner at La Vecchia Curte a few times where they serve really good pizza and some local specialties. They also have karaoke on Sundays for the corageous :) San Cesario is a little bit away from the coast so you probably need to have a car if you want to stay here. But if you don't mind driving and discovering Puglia by car this is a really great home to have as your base.

Serena was an excellent host! She met us as arranged and showed us the apartment including every detail. It is very clean, very well equipped and very spacious. San Cesario is only 6 kms from the centre of Lecce but retains it's own character. A great stay.

Dear travellers,
I'm a philosopher. My research area is Ethics, which teaches us how to live together and what we owe to each other.... I live in this land of ancient olive trees, smelling of sea..... I ride the land on my horse, Stella, while I sail the sea on my little boat Serenella. My hobby is writing tales and rhymes for children. I've studied ballet for many years. I've travelled a lot for studies but now I need to stay to finish writing a book.... I'm waiting for you in this magic corner of Puglia....
